Other parts of the video are excellent.
@amerikanka4 жыл бұрын
Alex, not everyone in the world will always say things perfectly the way you want them to because people are not you and they are not thinking the way you think. If it is very important for you that people know this, you should make a video on your channel called "Kosovo is Still Part of Serbia in the Eyes of Serbia, Spain, Greece, Slovakia..." That is the power of having your own youtube channel, blog, service... etc. When you see that other people don't perfectly say things the way you would say it, you have the power to create your own content that explains things you are passionate about instead of leaving that responsibility to someone else
@AlexA-ls4gc4 жыл бұрын
@@amerikanka I absolutely agree that not everyone in the world will say things the way me, you or somebody else want them. There we agree. But, here it is not about my opinion. Eh, if it was only me. I am the least of the problems. Its about the opinion of half of the world on that you are trying to relativize, distort, twist... What I disliked is that, in otherwise excellent video, which is not political you subtly promote political ideas. You use word "still" implying that Kosovo will/should be recognized. And you mention only Serbia to create illusion of Serbia being alone regarding its province of Kosovo issue while in reality half of the world is at Serbias side. You also use phrases "border between Kosovo Macedonia/Albania/Montenegro again implying that Kosovo is a state while in reality half of the world does not think so. And you are doing all of this while living in Serbia and using Serbias hospitality. I am not native english speaker, english is my 2nd language out of four, but my english is good. enough to recognize your subtle implications. As for youtube channel, we do agree. At the moment I do not have time for you tube channel because of the work. But, just like you can promote your political ideas in your I can equally debunk them with arguments

@@buzzhawk Kosovo is not an independent state nor it will ever be. Remember. Serbia has close ties with Izrael because we serbs were hiding and this way saved many jewish people lives from nazis during WW2. We serbs know very well how to live with people of other ethnicities and beliefs. In other serbian province of Vojvodina live hungarians and several other minorities. Thank you for doing the things you do. Ive always been saying that main problems of us Serbians is that we don't respect ourselves and our culture so much as we should. For moments after watching your videos and other foreigners living here, I sometimes feel like you like us more then we do ourselves and that's shocking. Because there are always some people in Serbia who complain, but the truth is that we are one of best countries to live in and they just don't see or appreciate it that much. Here we have freedom and that's the most important part. You just made Rakija drinking tutorial with 100% accuracy, good job. And love how you start most of videos with glass of Rakija, živa bila. :D My grandpa is 85, living in countryside and he is still doing every work like he is a young man. Every morning he drinks glass of his own rakija with a tomato salad (like you described it, drinking slowly why having a breakfast with grandma), he is like the healthiest man in my family. His hair started going grey just a few years ago) But he has been eating his own products whole life. Fruit, vegetable, meat, eggs, milk, vine and of course Rakija. If i live up to that age with the food I'm eating nowadays I will be really amazed. My sister and aunt always had stomach issues from the early morning, after they started drinking a glass of rakija every morning few years ago they never had the same problem again, same goes with blood circulation.

Free advice for foreigners: if you drink rakija, you have to eat something with it, if you don’t want to get drunk very fast. If you drink it on empty stomach, 2 or 3 little glasses will be enough to feel vertigo, sometimes even one, if the rakija is strong (most of them are strong). Remember that rakijas in stores or restaurants are not that strong as ones that are produced by ordinary people from their own fruits. If you drink “home” (domaća) rakija, you have to eat something with eat if you are not from Serbia. We Serbians are used to it.

I think maybe it just means an inside joke amongst locals that doesn't easily translate to English.... but I truly feel that when people are funny, it is universal, just some jokes don't always translate perfectly to English. I still don't understand enough Slavic jokes personally because It requires a strong understanding of language and context and so, I have a lot to improve in that area

I would say, in general, we are into dark humour, and there are no taboo subjects when making jokes. There are often references to the local popular culture and current events that we find amusing. Most of the families I've been in touch with will call out their family members daily for something in (what we believe is) a funny way. When it comes to TV and movies, the majority leans towards British comedies. One of the most popular TV shows ever is Only fools and horses, as it speaks to us on several levels. I personally find that Bosnians have a great sense of humour :) There was a popular TV show called Top Lista Nadrealista, but I'm not sure if foreigners can make sense of it.

The Amerikanka Tipping is not mandatory in Serbia, and regular people in Serbia are very poor for long long time, so we just lost that custom to appreciate customer service over time thru tipping as a nation, cuz regular people don’t have enough even for essential grocery and daily things, so they are thinking “ ok, I would love to give this person some tip,but If I do that, I will not have enough for something else, or I will not save any money for some more expensive thing I’m planing to buy if I’m tipping everyone every day”. If you are satisfied with service you can always tip, but people there are tipping very rarely, that’s where poor customer service comes from. And customer service people are usually forced to do those kinds of jobs in Serbia, usually they don’t have any education for the job they are doing. If they do, they usually work in expensive places, but then there is a language barrier problem as well, so you got to be lucky to bump on a person that is educated for customer service and knows English well enough. 😫 We are worm nation,but with no money,which screws up a lot of good things about us.

@@amerikanka The interesting fact is that Burek (Börek) have its origins in Turkish cuisine and refers to any dish made with yufka (very thin unleavened dough). But in Bosnia they developted special philosophy about how to name that pretty simple and very delicious dish. In Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia etc. we call them all Burek. Gibanica is quite similar but not a same thing.
@lov3masterns4 жыл бұрын
@@amerikanka It's whatever usually because "Burek" is a word that is taken from Turkish and "Gibanica" should be a native Slavic word from verb "gibati" which means 'to fold' or 'to stretch'. However, Turks call bunch of their meals with dough "böreği" not only and specifically those pies with cheese, potato or meat, or other things like spinach and so on. The main difference between "pita" and "gibanica" isn't only origin as Pera Peric is saying, but it's in the way you prepare dough which is a main ingredient. Pies ("pite") are *always* homemade by hand with actual flour and water mixings and stretching it exclusively by hands, plus salt and whatever recipes people are used to using, while "bureks" are mainly made with industrial dough/crust. Gibanice also has a lot thicker but often more drier crusts while pite (pies) are supposed to be fatter. :)

@@amerikanka For me shoots if you had a tough or a bad day. It makes it easier at least for a while like every alcohol. It tricky because you easily go wasted if you dont have compass 😂 Drink it easy and its the best way to enjoy it actually. Rakija connecting people! 💪☺

Belgrade Never liked Istern Serbia and that's a fact. Fack is also that IS use to be,and even now can be,most valuable and welthy part of the country. Romans new that thousand years ago.here was their roads, thay fortress, wellness and spa places.not on Zlatibor,not in Valjevo or Užice, but Here near Danube, near mains all across IS.they exploiting over here copper for bronze, gold for Monet and juvenile.they use overhear route to connect Danube with greece.allready they have plenty of food from reach fields, hunting places full of wild animals,rich forest with good wood for building.all that stuff Belgrade don't care about and try hard to devastate and make hard to live in.Romans didn't think that this region is to for from anywhere ,but Belgrade do think that because you have to travel so long to this region.thay delibararatly devastate this, maybe the most beautifull part of this country like this is not Serbia.In our history this region once stud up and try to fight this kind of behave from our capital and we pay that in blood...we thouth that was behind us.. but maybe, some 1 don't thinks so ...who knows

When Serbia losses Kosovo it will be better for both, I hope that happens soon. It's highly damaging stability of Serbia by wasting money, political confusions and producing hatred. Regarding the countries who are in favor of not recognising, are affraid that reciprocally it will apply to them, native Mexicans, Basc, east india... Nation- state identity is new creation, but quickly became old, very biringly old. If the break up of Yu was not enough, what other lesson is needed.
