So you might not have noticed, but every fighter won their fight. We only considered "tests" to be fights they still won, they were just their first true test they had to pass. Francis Stipe doesn't work because of this, Francis lost that fight.

When we see fighters dominate all of their early opponents i like to think it’s like playing Pokémon with a Pokémon you don’t know the level of. All you know is that it’s one shotting all of it’s opposition. Going up little by little. Take khamzat for example. You don’t know when your going to find yourself in a battle whether it’s against a lvl 20 GM3 a lvl 30 leach or a lvl 40 burns, but eventually you’ll figure out what lvl your pokemons at. Long story short no one is invisible, your favorite dominate fighter could lose his next fight or never lose again. That’s what great about this sport.

I heard some things after the fight between Khamzat and burns that explain why that fight was so back and forth and not the regular blow out that we would have expected from Khamzat. He explained that early in the fight he thought that burns was going for an arm bar and basically got freaked out that he would end up in a submission if he wrestled with him. I think that if he had just used the wrestling game he would have beaten Burns in one round every UFC fighter can strike pretty good and a lot of them can strike great so if you get in a back and forth striking battle you're going to take a lot of blows like Khamzat did. I know that Diaz has a pretty good jujitsu game as well but I don't think it's on the same level as Burns but if it ends up in a striking battle again the same reason should be understood. When they put him in there with somebody who isn't a Jiu-Jitsu specialist or high level practitioner then he's just going to destroy them like he was doing before the burns fight.

@@Itskfx don't remember if he popped for steroids after the fight but idk. I haven't rewatched it since but watching it live i really felt like khabib lost that fight. He didn't do shit but try to grapple and keep failing every single take down defense

Honorable mention for Aldo vs hominick Aldo was massacuring everyone at 145 until that 5th rd against Hominick, first time Jose looked beatable in his carreer.

I argued for this one but, it wasn't really that much of a test. When Khamzat vs Burns is what you're aiming for, it doesn't really come close

Khamzat completely changed his style and showed he could stand up and strike with one of the best if he wanted. To me, that proves he is still on God tier. And call me crazy but I felt Ronda deserved to be on this list as well. Before Holly, she was wrecking shop with ease.

I agree i think it could apply to both fighters as well. I know they both came in with one loss a piece but they were never in serious trouble after that. And considering most people thought it was going to be 25 min of hugging it definitely was more shocking than at least 1/2 the entries on this list

Shevchenko steamrolls Santos in the rematch. The only reason Santos had success was Shevchenko's ego. She tries to beat girls using their best skill.

No, Shevchenko always fights the way she does and has never deviated away from it. She's always been a low volume, risk-averse, clinch-happy counter-puncher who grapples a lot more then she actually strikes. She doesn't try to beat her opponents at their own game, she takes the path of least resistance to win unless a zero-risk opportunity presents itself for a finish.
