When we see fighters dominate all of their early opponents i like to think it’s like playing Pokémon with a Pokémon you don’t know the level of. All you know is that it’s one shotting all of it’s opposition. Going up little by little. Take khamzat for example. You don’t know when your going to find yourself in a battle whether it’s against a lvl 20 GM3 a lvl 30 leach or a lvl 40 burns, but eventually you’ll figure out what lvl your pokemons at. Long story short no one is invisible, your favorite dominate fighter could lose his next fight or never lose again. That’s what great about this sport.

I heard some things after the fight between Khamzat and burns that explain why that fight was so back and forth and not the regular blow out that we would have expected from Khamzat. He explained that early in the fight he thought that burns was going for an arm bar and basically got freaked out that he would end up in a submission if he wrestled with him. I think that if he had just used the wrestling game he would have beaten Burns in one round every UFC fighter can strike pretty good and a lot of them can strike great so if you get in a back and forth striking battle you're going to take a lot of blows like Khamzat did. I know that Diaz has a pretty good jujitsu game as well but I don't think it's on the same level as Burns but if it ends up in a striking battle again the same reason should be understood. When they put him in there with somebody who isn't a Jiu-Jitsu specialist or high level practitioner then he's just going to destroy them like he was doing before the burns fight.
