When i was 15 or 14, I was at my childhood best friend's ringuette game (she was 14 or 13 depending on my age) and one mom would shout and swear. I told her to stop because it was a game and they were kids. She came up to my face spittled anger and threatened me. I was shocked that an adult would act like this and bewildered. My best friends dad who was there with me was a 6ft6 texan ex military dude. Towered over me and her and asked if there was a problem. I looked at him, gave him a hug and asked the lady the same question. She backed the fuck up. He bought me a snack as a reward of doing the right thing and acting mature. Telling you, I was so happy to get home with them after because I am not about that behavior or shit, not then and not now more than a decade later.

10 years ago I was at a McDonalds play palace when a Karen that worked there screamed at me. The reason? I was enforcing the rules SHE told us. We were playing some type of cops & robbers game when she climbed into the structure and told us to stop playing the game because we were "playing too rough and violent". A few minutes later, my brother told me I was under arrest, when I said "you shouldn't do that". She then climbed back in and proceeded to scream at me, calling me a liar, constantly cutting me off and not letting me explain myself, then forced me to kick my brother off of the play palace. When my brother refused, she grabbed him and literally threw him off of the playground and onto the floor. The kicker was she worked there, but she wasn't an owner or a manager, but a JANITOR. Later we found out she was sent home, BUT NOT FIRED. TL:DR Karen Janitor at McDonald's yelled at me and threw my brother off of a play palace because I was enforcing the rules SHE TOLD US TO FOLLOW and wasn't fired. Edit: this also caused me to almost never talk to any store employee for a while as I thought they would lash out at me again if I even looked at them the wrong way

My adoptive mom had to deal with Karens a lot with me growing up. Especially living in the South. My adoptive mom is white and if she left me in the car to go into the store. She often got the cops called on her. Because there often would be someone who claimed my mom had kidnapped me and locked me in the back of her van. I was 11 years old and once had a lady holler and scream at my mom repeatedly in a Rite Aid parking lot and say that I was this missing girl who had disappeared a few years prior. This lady kept trying to get me to get out of my mom's van and get in her car while she called the police. This lady then claimed when the cops showed up that I couldn't possibly be my mom's daughter because my skin was a different color. Thankfully one of the cops who showed up was one of our neighbors and knew my mom well. They were part of our neighborhood's HOA. And was able to verify that my mom was telling the truth.

The story about daycare workers infuriated me in numerous ways. First of all, as someone that frequently cosplays as the character of Ghostface; you would be surprised how many young kids around this age or a little bit older actually tend to like the character. The second thing is that news outlets kept calling it a Scream mask, but it clearly isn’t, and they would even showcase clips from the actual 96 Scream movie to further prove that the mask was not Ghostface. With the bus driver one - anyone who thinks kids weren't utter nightmares to her have never been trapped in a small enclosed space with kids who KNOW she can't do anything to them. When my brother was 5, he was getting out of the car and accidentally tapped another car with his door. The woman who owned the car started yelling at him for “damaging” her car and telling him what a terrible child he was. When I was about 12/13 years old, a teacher threatened to cut my hair. I was already bullied to the point of wanting to end it all. I ended up cutting my own hair in rage. The era from the 1st grade to the 8th were thee most traumatic period of my life. I’m not surprised Karen’s harass their students. I was around 14 when I stopped by my local Shoppers Drug mart and I assume a Tourist Karen was yelling at a poor worker while I was behind her. She said she was looking for something she could normally find in her country, but the cashier kept telling her they probably didn't have what she was seeking at my store. The Karen was screaming at the cashier threaten to get her fired for lying and wants to speak the manager. While the girl was on the speaker calling someone to come, a woman turned to me and said, "Agh! Waste of Human tissues these people!" I was in my 'I don't care' teenage phase, and since she was also in a way insulting me for what she said I replied, "Well, I'm surprised you're still around then". After that, she started yelling all kinds of harsh things at me, raised her hand in an apparent attempt to slap me, pretty much everything you shouldn't do to a minor, let alone someone else's child. Eventually, the manager came over and began arguing with Karen. Since I didn't much care what was going to happen, I left with my stuff. However, I would hope that she was banned from the store or that the police were called. If I had a second chance back then I wished I had said "Not every store has what your looking for Karen! especially if you don't live here"

Had my first experience with a "Karen" a couple of weeks ago over a coupon that was eight months expired and that was part of a temporary special we had going on earlier this year, anyway this lady didn't want to hear that so she demanded that I give her the special discount anyway. I told her "no", she then (of course) asked to speak to my supervisor, I said "your looking at him". She then freaked, stormed out and before screaming like a loonatic she says to me "I'm going to go and talk to a head manager, because this is an outrage!", she then heads to another department (jokes on her, the discount was only for the department I work in and not any other part of the store). Truth be told as much as I know better not to rely on excessive unnecessary violence, I really wanted to throw water on this witch to see if she melts into goo (jk). Whoever the jackass was that said "customers are always right" never worked in actual retail.

Bellow the Bus Driver: One year, our bus got stuck in the snow of a farmer's drive way and it took AGES for us to get out, our school was small so we didn't have a back up bus to come and collect us, so we had to stay on the bus. Did we kick up a fuss, yeah. Did our bus driver yell at us? Not to my recollection, he may have yelled "Settle/Simmer down!" but that was it. He was the grandfather of one of my classmates and he had been a bus driver for our school district for over 30 years. He drove some of our PARENTS to school and he and the other elderly bus driver we had were very much beloved by the kids. It was like having an extra Grandpa for maybe an hour every school day. Should she have yelled? Perhaps not, but if you want to be heard over a lot of screaming, excitable children, you're going to have to raise your volume. Should she have said some...less than acceptable words? Absolutely not. Don't swear in front of kids, let the parents teach them.
