Should you cast on loose. I tried a double crochet and a half stich but had a hard time going through all three. I'm thinking knitting might be better. I'm just trying to make a simple rectangle shrug thing

Great tips but why does no one show how to tie off ends when done with projects using faux fur yarn especially for edging? Using regular yarn we weave in ends but how does one do that with faux fur? Tying knots with yarn does not always hold, so what is the trick with faux fur?

I'm a little confused. A lot of people keep saying it's easiest to "do stockinette" with this yarn but then go on to say to knit all the stitches. Isn't that called garter stitch though? And if I did actual stockinette (knit one side, purl the next side*) isn't stockinette notorious for curling up and needing a border of something like garter/rib/seed stitch that prevents the curling? I don't think this is a regional thing because typing it into Google shows stockinette only as the little plait/braid looking things on one side and purl stitch on the other. So why do people keep saying to do stockinette stitch? Is it better? Is a misnomer? It's driving me a little cray cray lol
