1. Low Body Stance - relaxed, but ready to move 2. Shoulder Width Stance - primed to react + move 3. Anticipation - predict where the ball is going to be (empty space, gaps in blocks, optimal angles, etc.) 4. Split Step - a small hop before the ball comes 5. Sturdy Platform - arms together, shrugging 6. Platform Angles - let your platform face the area you want the ball to go 7. Angling Body - drop/lift shoulders, angle hips/shoulders 8. Adding Power - do NOT add power through speed, occasionally cushion impact. If power is needed, use legs as a trampoline. 9. Effort - Practice you lazy bum, experience is more important than theory 10. Understanding Mistakes - analyze why you messed up and correct it Remember to watch the full video btw this is just a quick outline. We becoming Yamamoto with this one 🔥🔥🔥

I'm a junior high school student (grade 8) that got chosen to play the role of LIBERO. The captain ball saw me and said I was good with my receiving- have good defense, posture, and reflexes. Now, I am here to improve even more, and I will make sure to not let my captain ball regret that he chose to trust me.😊😊😊

relax your arms
@TheOnlyJosiah.9 ай бұрын
What I think about is cushioning the ball, don't add any power to it. Also your platform's angle matters a lot, if you're tilting too much in front of u, the ball will just go where you want it to go at a sharper angle, try adjusting the angle so that it doesnt go too far in front

During games, I always try to go low when the opposite side is on the second or third touch but I keep going back up because my legs get tired. Do you have specific exercises to strengthen the legs for better stamina on this? Thanks
@TheOnlyJosiah.9 ай бұрын
If your legs get tired that means you should improve your legs' muscles endurance. So I'm pretty sure any compound lower body exercise like squats or trap-bar deadlifts will do the job. These exercises also improve your core so they'll help with your overall stability. They're useful to strengthen your legs in general, but if I wanted more endurance, I would go for higher repetitions like 15+ (or to failure, but with high repetitions) instead of 6-8 for example, just to build that muscle stamina like you mentioned. Also, if you're gonna be doing those exercises, make sure you have proper form to not injure yourself.

Here's the issue I see. My daughter has pretty good hands. But she's on the shorter side. If this rule change cascades down to highschool/club - this will only incentivise coaches to use the biggest people possible. I saw it at the middle school level where the coaches were not very skilled and just used the tallest girls possible. It'll turn the game into the NBA.

Do you have any tips on upper hand pass? Especially with float serves I keep shanking the ball due to unpleasant experience that led me to jarred fingers.
@TheOnlyJosiah.9 ай бұрын
Attack the ball with your hands, be agressive with it for float serves, that will help you control it better. Also, instead of spacing your hands like you would for a set, bring them closer so that the ball doesn't go through them
