Great tips! I was doing the glades at Jay Peak in Vermont last weekend and definitely need some improvement. They have challenging dense glades and easier glades, I was able to maintain some flow through the easier ones which is such an amazing feeling, but it was a struggle through the harder woods for sure. Also knowing what’s around a corner, being aware of brooks or rocks. They had about 3 feet of powder in the trees so it got tricky to see what’s around the next bend sometimes. I’m self taught for the last 17 years and I think there’s definitely some missing technique to my skills.

#4 is called target fixation and its very real. if you keep looking at a tree you want to avoid, youre actually more likely to hit it. look where you want to go

Always great vids here! One question I think many would be interested in knowing is what type of snowboarding injuries you (the experts) have had and how you overcame / prevented in the future? Whether with certain exercises or training or braces or (etc). Just falling in those tree wells looks like it could be painful lol but also many of the insane jumps / tricks that I do not imagine anybody "nailed on the first try". I myself was crushing tree runs one day in Brighton and then on my 2nd to last of the day, I hit something unseen underneath the snow which caused me to land awkwardly inverting my right shoulder thus dislocating and also tearing my labrum (common with that injury). Still was able to get down after but now will be dealing with that for life ... and cannot wait to get back into the trees 😉

You missed calling out "hidden treasures". Early season it's easy to dry dock and potentially end it before it even gets going. Knowing the trees and what is under the snow is huge for the first few dumps! I'm a Homewood regular and watched one of my local bros destroy his knee on the first dump of the season at the bottom of the mountain. He was out till the following year and took two years to fully recover.

Just switched out my hometown hero for a Burton process as I wanted something a little more all mountain. I love trees and I’m a little worried to process is gonna be a lot worse in the trees than my former board. Thoughts??
@MrProfro

Yeah, you just made a switch from a highly rated all-mountain board to a park board. Why?
@ToddSnow
@ToddSnow Жыл бұрын
@@MrProfro Uh on burtons own website the process is rated 10/10 for all mountain and the hometown hero is rated a 7/10. The hometown hero is definitely more of a free ride board than it is all mountain. And from what I’ve read the process is an all mountain but can be described as an all mountain freestyle board as well. So you clearly have no idea what you’re talking about
