As a Kauai native and kanaka I approve of this video. She didn’t give up the real spots so calm down if you’re bent out of shape. She’s promoting Kauai businesses which helps the community more than anything.

Agree 100%. Tons, and tons things to do. When i very first time visit Kauai, whole trip cost me $900. Including air, 7night hotel, breakfast in nice restaurant and 4Wd. Went everywhere. But thing what remember the most was this wonderful yellow parrots. I visit Kauai 11 times after , but i never so this beautiful parrots again

I cried when you explained borrow a pup. All shelters should think about this. I love animals more than people for so many valid reasons; this would top off my trip.

Some good suggestions... I'll add ~ take some time to do absolutely nothing while you're here. Smell the ocean. Listen to the birds. Feel the warm sand under your feet. If you don't experience island time you've really missed something. The Kauai Museum on Rice Street is also worth a visit. Learn some real history. Don't just count on the tour guides. Just give local folks their space, they're likely not on vacation. If they want to be friendly you'll know.

Aloha from Kauai! At 2:02 you used a clip of our video that we did full video on taking a shelter dog on a field trip. That’s our OHT logo in the lower right corner of the clip and my husband in the video walking the shelter dog we took out. Please give us credit by including a link to our video in your description and in the future please ask permission to use our video clips as we’d be happy to collaborate.

I just checked the humane society website and it did not require any shots or booster shots. It's such a great idea to adopt a doggo for the day or to even transfer one to the mainland to be adopted. Either way, procedes go to helping out the dogs in the shelter. What a great way to support them and have a companion.

Great tips! Also as a side note, to adopt a dog for a day you need to be fully vaccinated with 2 booster shots, and you need to do an online and in-person training before picking up the dog that can take up some precious vacation time just as an FYI!
@climbergreenO2 жыл бұрын
this rule is ridiculous. I had two shots and one boost in March 2022, so my 3rd booster will not expire until September, but if I am planning to go there and adopt the dog I cannot do it because of this rule...

Keep in mind that us locals don’t tell tourists about it because we like our hang out spots with no tourists 🤷🏽♂️ Especially when coming to our island be respectful of the locals because it’s sad enough that we have to deal with foreigners buying up our land and moving here thinking that they can talk and do whatever they want.

facts ! I lived in North Shore O'ahu and I had a neighbor that was such a dick always complaining about people(locals) cutting though his " Private Beach" and bitched about having to build up his beach and blah blah blah......finally I set facts on his ass regarding Hawaii Culture and history and he should be very thankful to be allowed to live here......so I told all locals to pass through my side down to beach to see the Big turtles ! The look on his face is priceless !!!! lol Jerkface 3000

Wainiha and Koke'e are not anywhere near to each other- geographically close but separated by impassable cliffs and actually one of the furthest distances by road on the island. Many of the place names were mispronounced and I wouldn't recommend surfing at Anahola beach for beginners. Otherwise ok advice
