I'm not fully confident on it but I remember hearing that part of the reason (or *the* reason) why old games back in the day used pseudonyms instead of real names in the credits was just so the company doesn't have their workers poached/stolen because they worked on something.

What sucks about that secret in A Link to the Past that room is an error handler so if the game is running correctly you will never find it. To find it you need to force the game to load rooms in a weird way and rather than crash it will load that room so the game keeps running. Kind of a dick move to make some kid's secret room an error handler.

You understand that VIDEO GAMES were not as popular back in the day, and hiding credits was to keep people from being like "Eww... you made that trash?" Back then making video games was NOT as respected as it is today. It was seen as niche and more of a hobby or a 'risk' It's ACTUALLY very much the same kind of concept when people are using pen-names to write books. I know it's hard to imagine these days, since EVERYTHING is censored and controlled by a massive hypocritical movement called 'Identity Politics'... but yeah, people used to use pen-names to keep their public identities secret.

I surprised that they didn't put the black ops 3 zombies marriage proposal or anniversary EE on DE. Surprising no one found for years. Since this is a game where you inspect everything for EE because that's how you beat the map.
