I was on the quest for my first "perfect" G-Shock. Initially, I considered the GBX-100, but I couldn't quite embrace it. The GBX-100 falls short of perfection; it lacks refinement. I encountered numerous issues with Bluetooth connectivity, and the app interface left much to be desired. The app is essential for syncing the watch and adjusting certain features, as it's quite challenging to do so directly on the watch itself. While the watch does have some interface issues, that's a story for another time. My search led me to the GW-5000U, which turned out to be my ideal first G-Shock. It's proudly made in Japan, featuring a screw-locking back, premium resin, and a steel inner case. Essentially, it stands as a more refined and premium version of the DW5600.

Aquaracer 40mm 2022. It was supposed to be just an entry to the world of higher-end watches. The problem? Beside the movement, it is winning aesthetically every 1-2-1 fight with other watches that I am trully interested in. Aesthetically, I find this aquaracer to be above other offerings at a similar or higher price. For example, Tudor BB is just not finished as good as the aquaracer. Not to mention tickness or overall equilibrium in dimensions. But the one thing that somehow is glued to my mind is simply how they went for the aquaracer and set the hour hand height preciselly at the height as the hour indices. And I have failed to find any other watch for which the same applies.
