I bought a black dial version. It was one of the the greatest moments of my life as I saved 10 years to buy that watch. I flew from Amsterdam to London and took a coffee after 3 hours went back. Now I can do a little research and hopefully find out what what she is worth.

I am fortunate to have a small eight watch collection, my favourite is my late Fathers 1972 Seiko 5 with a blue face, my Mother purchased it with her first Salary working for MOD which was remarkable as she had Polo from three years old and spent her life in a Wheelchair, being a Woman in the 1970s in MOD was hard enough as it was, I had the watch serviced and cleaned, and it looks like new. ❤

These AMW videos are a classic template for any who wish to engage and hold an horological onlooker’s interest . I’ve listened to you through ’Watchfinder’ and am impressed with your development of your content and presentation of same . Your offerings of details about any of the watches you present are cocooned in a meticulously precise swaddling cloth of childlike love and wide eyed enthusiasm for the makers and engineers of the watches , and a dreamlike sense that we all share the same desire (to know the history and development behind the smallest components in ANY watch) . Having listened to you probably about seven years ago and inspired by your enthusiasm, I bought a Dornblüth . Your enthusiasm was not unfounded . My enthusiasm for the Dornblüth upholds and sustains yours . You’ve reawakened my desire for another . L gooru

As one of the people who most definitely "has trouble remembering a single number for an entire day" I wish the watch enthusiast community would slow down the crusade against dates. I wish I could live without one since no date dials look better for the most part. Unfortunately, when I wear a no date watch I keep looking at it for the date all day and get frustrated. I liked Tudor until I saw David Beckham leering from a Tudor display in a jewellers shop window. I assume he squeezed that advert in, between shilling for Nespresso and now Walkers Crisps! He reminds me of the main character in “The New Statesman”, Alan B’stard, played by the late great Rik Mayall. B’stard is an MP who, when cameras are brought into parliament for the first time, adorns his suit with advertising for several companies he’s on the take from 😅

His contacts list would impress anyone. He's played his cards really well, and his Brand Ambassador role is influencial in Tudor's success. Look at your life, and I wonder how well you played your cards? Show respect to people who have done well. It's what a gentleman would do.
@lordcharfield45293 ай бұрын
@@verynormalman I’m successful enough that I don’t need a lecture and am very comfortable in my own skin. I know all about Beckham’s amazing football and financial accomplishments, but I’m not sure that I would see his bank account or address book as something to drool over! Is that really aspirational for you? It leaves me feeling dead inside 😆 He has chosen exceptional advisors, but even he hasn’t achieved his (apparently) greatest desire - to grovel at the feet of the diminutive King Charles! I just find the association with discarded crisp packets and spent coffee pods very unfortunate. Tudor grandees obviously know what they’re doing and this will appeal to more potential customers than it alienates. For me, Eric Cantona, a gifted footballer and now an accomplished actor would have been a much better choice. In writing this, I have just remembered that “Tudor Crisps” was a brand of potato crisps produced by Tudor Food Products, until a take over by PepsiCo killed it off. Maybe the marketing team at Tudor watches was keen to establish a relationship with a popular, unhealthy snack after all!
