I want to add something to your last point in nurturing men. I agree that men need nurture from women but we women need to know who is worth our nurture. If he deserves it. A lot of women nurture men who don't even care about them.

@@IevaKambarovaite exactly. Some women go to far on trying to be their nurture that they want to have answers and solutions for them. Being too understanding can backfire. I hope we can learn to discern how much and when to nurture.
@Rainbow-jb4xg3 жыл бұрын
@@preslytanus You know there're psychological reasons linked to this behaviour in women? I talked about it with my therapist years ago, and unfortunately some women see a child in their partner, that's why they tolerate everything and do everything he asks. We as women are wired to be "abused" by infants, kids are highly demanding and we need to be tolerant and patient ,you can't kick your kid out of the house because he won't do as he is told or threw his toy at you, but this doesn't mean our partner deserves the same treatment. That's why we need to work on our self-esteem and recognise the difference between loving your child and loving a grown-up man who has completely different needs. You can tolerate your kid being a pain in the bum (let's be honest, kids are hard work) but your partner should never be hard work, and if he is, leave him! There's a difference between nurturing a man and nurturing a child. Let's try not to confuse those and end up treating our partner like if he was a child lol

Agree. With my last experience of online dating (prior to the COVID situation), the girl I went on a date with expressed to me that she felt a bit uncomfortable with the date because she felt like she didn't deserve it (I took her out for dinner then to a nice cocktail bar, then went for a nice night-time walk in Hyde Park). She said that she wasn't used to being taken out, and all the other guys she'd dealt with through online dating had either not actually asked her on a date and just wanted to come straight over to her place, or invite her round their place (with obvious intentions), or took her some place cheap. She said that the previous guy took her on a date to McDonalds. I couldn't believe it lool. The sad thing is, I wasn't even going out of my way to treat her well or take her anywhere mindblowing - it was just a simple case of showing that I have respect for myself and for the girl I'm taking out, and going somewhere with a modicum of class. But it seems like in the modern dating world, even these basic standards are so often not met! And it really shows, like in how this girl said she felt a bit uncomfortable with the date because she didn't feel good enough to be taken out. That to me, as a guy who is more traditionally minded, is somewhat sad. Everyone should feel entitled to basic levels of respect in dating, and I think it behoves a man to set a good example when he takes a woman out on a date! As someone who is 25, I think i was born in the wrong generation :/

Thank you for these advices, Anna. You are spot on as always. About #4 Get a life - this is so true because an idle mind is a devil’s playground. Anna, all I can say I wish you were around 25 years ago. I felt very insecure in my former relationship because when I met his best friend for the first time, the first thing out of his mouth how’s the Playboy? If that wasn’t a sign, why didn’t I react to that? I was in a 10 year relationship and I didn’t respect my self-worth. I remember growing up; my mother would always say if you don’t respect yourself, no one else is going to. Why didn’t I listen, she was sharing words of wisdom. The topics you share with us will definitely open our minds. Ciao Bella!💜

Just by being kind to him. cook him dinner sometimes, but don't let him flop at your house all weekend. Watch sports with him sometimes, but make sure he watches something you like with you sometimes too. Treat him like you would want to be treated, but don't tolerate his not treating you the same way. Relationships are give and take. Don't do his laundry tho, ever, till you are married. most men hate doing laundry so they will gladly pawn if off on a woman if she's willing.
@TheSuperGeo3 жыл бұрын
@@annefisher6323 LOL you want someone to start picking his underwear and put it away when doing laundry? I have been in a 12 years relationship now without getting married and this is ridiculous. We both contribute to the house chores because we both live there. Marriage is not a conditioning, I don't wanna get married, I am simply teaming up with a man to make ourselves a beautiful life togheter. Things should be easy, not complicated "don't do this if you're not married". Treat him like a king now, because now you see if he does this back to you, before doing mistakes. If you're waiting untill after marriage, maybe he is waiting too, to treat you like a carpet. A woman is supposed to be independent and handle her own sh*t, not to plan her life around a ring. When you stand your ground, you don't even care to be married anymore, you just celebrate the NOW with him, day after day, with the freedom to go whenever you want. Buy the house on your both names, have your own and also common bank account and you don't need to wait for him to wife you. That's insecurity and puts him in a position of superiority. In my case, 12 years is enough to want to marry him because he was with me during my lowest times, but I am not gonna waste $5000 for a night of party. And papers are useless, all of our possessions are 50-50. But if you still wanna get married, make sure you don't do it too fast. Wait to live with him for 2-3 years before that. And make sure you don't sacrifice your finances for the wedding.

I have discovered that some of these insecurities you're talking about have more to do with my having an anxious attachment style which was brought about by my relationship with my father and previous bad romantic relationships when I was ghosted. I have learned my triggers and am healing from those past relationships. I am learning not to jump to the first negative assumptions but instead to give the man the benefit of the doubt and assume other positive scenarios.

I was placed in "charms school" when I was 9. I dropped the training a year later because I was tired of being the only 5th grader with a napkin on my lap during lunch time. Lol. But I never forgot those lessons. How to eat, set a formal table, sit, walk, stand, and dress. Very Princess Diaries for reference. But even though self esteem was "implied" through learning how to be a proud "lady", our interactions with young men, and later men, wasn't important, being pleasant was. I found myself drowning my identity in every relationship trying to keep men "happy". I clicked on this vid. Number 1- setting boundaries, brought me to tears. I needed to hear this! Remind myself of this. Thank you so much for this video and I hope everyone who paid attention to #1, really took it to heart. We can do so much better. And we don't have to settle for it.
