I think letting go of perfectionism is an important skill to learn. As important as any skill we train in the gym. I also think that conditionality, or the idea that things aren't always this or that, or good or bad, is an important concept to understand.

You inspire me so much! I am a 57 year old post menopausal woman and new Grandmother who managed to lose 50 lbs during that lovely life transition, but I'm looking to maintain and build muscle. So many contradicting macro recommendations out there, and after a year of being totally plant based and unfortunately seeing how that depleted my body's natural stores of many minerals (this is just my body - I know it's a great lifestyle for some), adding copious amounts of protein back in to my life has been a challenge. I also have had a fairly recent diagnosis of osteopenia which has lit a fire under me to build that muscle back and protect these old bones! Thank you for all you share - it's such a gift to me!

I found your channel today, and I think it’s a fitness goldmine. Your whole approach is refreshing and motivating, because you explain things in a detailed but easy to understand way. And you demonstrate much more variety of exercises than other channels. Thank you so much!

This is great timing for me. I've been maintaining a 127 lb weight loss for about a month. I just got home from a 2 week vacation and I thought I had gained 3 lbs but after a single day back to my normal routine, the entire gain disappeared. I feel massive relief. I have a lot of anxiety over how doable it is to maintain this huge change. I LOVE my new lifestyle but it's still new.

Love this video! Will re-watch this when I'm losing motivation. I might get hate for this but here it goes… Tried keto for a month and yes I lost a few kilos but I love working out, food, cooking, taking vacations and socialising. It’s hard to socialise and explain to people why I’m on keto, what’s keto etc etc. Constantly thinking of the restrictions is stressing me out. One thing I realized is that I can deal with low carb and calorie deficit. I stopped keto and switched to low carb and calorie deficit instead. With calorie deficit, I can still get tiny portions of the food I love without constantly thinking of being kicked out of keto. I lost 7 kilos so far and few inches off my waist. I’m happier so far with this path. I guess we just have to find what works for each of us. 😊

This is a very good point. And it's one of the very reasons I'm not a fan of keto. Good for you for adjusting and finding a plan you can stick with better!
@yawillykwily71792 жыл бұрын
I agree with you 100%, It's good to try out new things here and there and you will find what fits your lifestyle. I tried keto and I love it but eventually I realized Low carb with IF and casual 24hrs fasting sometimes works for me. It's about sustainability, consistency and flexibility. Eat less processed food, eat small portion, skip meals when not socializing or hungry, walk or run have fun. Enjoy life. :)

I agree. I recently turned mostly vegetarian which means I try to replace meat with veggies as much as possible while allowing for the occasional meat. Keto was too difficult because it required perfection which became very stressful. Keep up the good work and keep adjusting.

You are awesome !! I like your views as I want to be healthy but still want to enjoy that holiday or wedding or birthday party . I already do what you talked about , enjoy the day but have the next day’s food already planned out and get right back on track ..I don’t track anything but cook my own food , eggs, chicken , ground turkey, vegetables…lost 16 pounds in 2 months and actually see my abs coming in ! Lol thanks again

I’m really glad I found your channel. The things you talk about make sense and are logical. Things that are maintainable over a long period of time. I’ve been working out for about 10 years and can’t meet my fitness goals. I’m hoping with your channel I finally can. One thing I haven’t run across yet, how many times a week should I workout? I like running/hiking. Strength training not so much. How many times per week should I do each type of workout?

I just subscribed to your channel. If I could make a suggestion. How about a video of isometric exercises while waiting for the bus or while standing in the subway. I ike to stand straight, knees slightly apart. Then I try to open my legs without moving my feet. Great workout for the inner thigh. But I wish I had more "nobody can tell you're exercising" exercises.

Because of my mindless eating addiction (yes, that’s my label for it right now) I follow my meal plan 80% while on vacation. Otherwise, it’s way too hard for me to get back on track when I get home. I also workout while on vacation because I like the way it makes me feel.

@redefiningstrengthOC2 жыл бұрын
Supplements are definitely supplemental but I find BCAAs especially key for my female clients, especially through menopause. And creatine key for some of my more plant-based clients or women who are super hard-gainers. Here are two articles I have on them. redefiningstrength.com/lets-talk-supplements-breaking-down-bcaas/ redefiningsupps.com/2021/06/28/will-creatine-turn-you-into-the-hulk/

Wow Cory you have worked hard! Only problem I have is I’ve increased the weights & body fat has dropped (I was never fat always slim) now I’m toned which I like, feel good but my face is paying for it ☹️ I looked older & more angled. I’d never resort to Botox/surgery but I can see why many women do. Any tips? 😵
@kendallstark43022 жыл бұрын
Maybe filler? Dermatologists use fillers usually made of collagen or hyaluronic acid to smooth out lines around the mouth and crow's feet. Another thing you can do is use sunscreen every single day. It won't make your face fill out, but it will protect the collagen you still have. Good luck!

@darnitthelma42472 жыл бұрын
@@kendallstark4302 I use sunscreen but don’t have interest in fillers etc so suppose I’m on a losing battle. Presume it’s the lack of body fat? Or the faces I pull as I train🙄😂 but I have no interest in putting things into my face.

@@momwlf9081 we can’t win can we 🤷🏼♀️ Well done you 👌🏻 I have never had weight to lose but have upped my game with weights. I believe you either have the face you want or the body you want. You can’t have both without a little help & I don’t want to go down the road x

I have this issue after losing 127 lbs. I miraculously escaped loose skin somehow, yet I have deep smile lines that have started to bother me more than I ever thought they could. I never thought I would consider plastic surgery, yet.... I kinda am. A minimal facelift might fix my problem. I can't believe I'm even thinking about it. Interestingly, my mom recently told me something I never knew about my late father: after losing a lot of weight in his 40s (I'm 41) he had a facelift!

the clickbait is "can't loose body fat!?" but your video has nothing to do with loosing body fat, it's only about how to maintain the weight one already achieved. I like your videos usually, but this gets a downvote.
