Well, because maybe these videos are like 2 to 3 weeks off and due to production, edition and assessing of the video itself, all these videos were recorded and created as I said, about two to three videos ago.

Two random thoughts: 1) When I was 9 and reading about Greek mythology, I theorized that people thought gods were too powerful to look at because looking at the sun made people go blind. 2) Occasionally a lunar eclipse follows a solar eclipse two weeks later.

This is the first of Karl's paranormal TopTenz videos KZbin recommended to me, and I felt like dropping a note that I like it. When Simon does one, it always feels like he's being forced to read it, but Karl gives me the impression he's having fun with it. Being skeptical isn't a bad thing, inherently, but since I come at these topics from an open-minded point-of-view, it's nice to have them discussed in a way that doesn't make me feel dumb for considering it possible. I got to watch the solar eclipse last week! It was an annular solar eclipse which means that the moon was far away enough that it didn't quite block out the whole sun, so you see the ring all the way around it. This was my first time getting to witness a solar eclipse without clouds! I was so happy. Next year we're traveling so that we can see the total eclipse. With a total eclipse for just a few minutes when it's happening you can observe it without a filter. Without damaging your eyes. I'm super looking forward to that. Fingers crossed for no clouds. But yes please, if you're ever planning on observing a solar eclipse, wear protective eyewear. Your regular sunglasses are not the same thing. You need a proper filter. You will damage your eyes. Also, if you plan on taking pictures, you will need a special filter for your camera. Or you will ruin your camera. Just fyi.

Came here to say this about solar eclipses. If it's total, you can look at the sun during totality without protection and you totally should because that's when you get to see the corona doing it's magic.

I think maybe Kristallnacht exploded (or was sparked) partly because there was already a 'November 9th' excitment in the air. One of the major gang fights in New York exploded on July 4th, 1857. Senses were hightened, and alcohol was plenty.

Not sure how true it is but the story at my high school was our VP was struck by lightning 4 times. After the second time, he wasn’t allowed to use an umbrella anymore. After the 4th, he wasn’t allowed to stay outside to make sure students were getting in the bus safely or be near windows when it stormed 😂 Could have been a bunch of BS but it was a fun story

To me, the visual size of the moon, at its general distance, in relation to the visual size of the sun on Earth, is absolutely amazing, because it is on such a large scale. Also, being at the perfect place in time! The sun will be growing larger as it ages, and the moon will drift farther and farther away (if I'm remembering correctly) becoming smaller and smaller from our point of view.

March 14 is also my birthday and when I was younger, I knew I was going to study science when I got older and therefore Albert Einstein was someone I looked up to. However, I why into biology, then psychology, but still Albert Einstein was a well known scientist and was someone I still looked up to. I also looked up to Gregor Mendel as I was interested in genetics.

Its funny, what I liked about top tenz with simon was his dead pan presentation. Just the facts. Then going to some other channels the tangents and side notes shit me. It took me a wile now I enjoy the casual criminalist because the writers are just so great. Yeah, slightly more info: The previous owner of the channel (not Simon) passed away. His daughter is running his channels now. While she was mourning his death, and gaining access to his channels, Simon made his own channels and moved on.

There's some things in the video I mentioned where she admitted she wasn't the most reliable boss at first and Simon moving on was understandable. But it seems like it's all in order and everything's running smoothly with Karl as host now and I'm happy for everyone involved.

@@MiscMitz Simon's had most of his channels up and running for a few years now. There's dozens of videos on each of them. I believe the newest one that may overlap with all this is "Science Unbound" but I think that was established before this stuff too. Simon didn't make his own channels because of this stuff, he just stopped working on Biographics, Geographics, and TopTenz and continued his own ones.

I like to make the connection between the constellation Orion and TIm Burton. Tim Burton Directed Beetlejuice, in the movie it is stylized as Betelgeuse, just like a the star that makes up the shoulder of Orion. The star on the opposite shoulder is called Bellatrix, who shares its name with a character in the Harry Potter franchise. In the movies, Bellatrix was portrayed by Helena Bonham Carter, who was married to Tim Burton
