hahah that happened to me in the MMORPG game Tera. I killed the first boss in ONE hit in the first encounter but you were supposed be beaten by it at first to meet the boss later on so naturally i grinded for another 5 hours and then went to one hit the boss in the actual boss battle. either way the game assumed i was weak so the events that happened happened either way. in short: i spent over an hour at the start of the game grinding monsters, and then another 5 hours preparing for the second encounter. if i were in a fantasy world and my life depended on it, you can assume i'd spend ten times that duration grinding. i'm a patient man when it comes to grinding.

i figured it would turn out that that little girl was the daemon king in disguise and the father just a summoned familiar, and the book mark isn't a cursed object to attract monsters but rather a cursed item that allows the daemon king to scry on saiya's whereabouts so he knows where he is and what he's up to. but it doesn't let him see his level or anything that happens in the heavenly realm ultimately making it almost useless if not outright feeding him information that could lead him to have misconceptions of saiya's true power.

@@profanity4563 In skyrim i always "strategicaly retreated" when i saw a dragon until i could massacre them and had my inventory full (i needed my fire sword, a spare ice sword if they are resist to fire, two daggers, a bow in case of range combat, a light armor to sneak, a spare heavy armor, formal clothes in case of speach and potion ... alot of them). The funny thing is i almost always killed them with my op magic and vampire powers like a badass and almost never used my sword and never used any other of my bagillion weapons i had on my bag. And the clothing were only cosmetic has the buffs that they had didnt matter has i was op. PS. Ups i almost forgot of the potion never used them.

For realz I generally push my pokemon to the level limit they're allowed to be at before fighting each gym leader. and each time train a new team based on the type I know the gym leader to be. Koga's a poison type so of course I take my best psychic, of course I take my best steel (this was in the remakes so steel existed) and I even took a snorelax because he had immunity. Snorelax beat the entire gym single-handedly. I was so proud. On the other hand in GS I trained my ass off to try and make sure each pokemon could beat the fighting gym single-handedly. and then Chuck just had 2 over-leveled pokemon and by the end of the battle I knew if I had gone to fight him without all that grinding he would've kicked my ass with sheer level difference.

Honestly I think it's freaking hilarious that his cautiousness actually works in his favour, just because his enemies are also extremely cautious. Like, the only reason he wins is because he out-cautiouns them and is also just straight up crazy. He's not the hero that world wants nor deserves, but he's definitely the hero that world needs. And I hope we get to see him meet the demon lord or something and just have an entire battle sequence where they try to out-caution each other.

I first watched Overly Cautious Hero (OCH) two days ago. I was just looking through Hulu for something I haven't watched 30 times. Now I've watched all 12 episodes of OCH 3 times now.
