Kinda sucks we don't still have 13 months in a year and 13 hours in a day to play that down to the 13th mins, in order to commit to the bit 😂😂🤷🏾‍♂️😂😂 Warhammer Fantasy players would go nuts for that with the Skaven. But in 40k the Ratmen aren't the Ratlings. The small big hairy footed snipers are actually the hated/disliked Hobbits aka Halflings. While rest is us as a whole in the more spacey sci-fi setting are the Ratmen. And you can tell by how every colonized planet has a Hive City built on it. No matter how large or small it might be in the population index going from 10s to hundreds of millions of people to the high billions living in cramped squalid spaces where living peacefully is a pipe dream and the pipes among other materials are used to make all sorts of armor and both melee and ranged weapons. And the dead are quickly fed to the living by the corpse starch producing Grinder Cults finding their bodies after conflicts like large gang wars and turn them into the Spam-like food stuff for the populations to feed on besides whatever they can farm from the massive underground and generally artificial environment even mutant wildlife like huge rats often the size of dogs, sewage swimming crocs, all sorts of mushrooms, wild cats, insects and more. Even some generally disgusting Mass of Fat in the Underhive called Scrape. And the less I say about that probably the better despite the taste 😖🤨😋. Lol

Fun fact there are still men of iron running around. One even hid itself within the adeptus mechanicus and he's called UR-025. He's even seen the 'true' Omnissiah, not the one the mechanicus worship.

The Dark Angels also have Excindio-class Battle-Automata, lobotomized and enslaved and tortured-to-insanity Men of Iron, as one of their secret toys. Very volatile, even on the HH tabletop, where on wound they have a chance to just go berserk and attack indiscriminately unless your tech-marine manages to flip the kill-switch. I think they were last used to sandbag Curze during the Heresy and haven't been seen since, though maybe the Lion will let them come out and play again.

Ok, so I NEED Koda to read this comment. I have context for what the Orks did to the humans on that planet during the War of the Beast. Basically, the Orks took control of the planet generations ago and corralled all the humans kicking and screaming into pens. The Orks in charge of doing this were of the Snakebite Klan, who are known for being the best at breeding different squigs. When Lysander said that the humans in those pens were like cattle, he wasn't joking. They were honestly basically bipedal PIGS at that point. The Orks had been in control for so long that they had DOMESTICATED HUMANS. And it goes even further beyond that. The humans of that planet had been so well domesticated, that any part of a human body that could be used to harm an Ork were BRED OUT. They had no fingernails or teeth. They couldn't even talk. Just let out porcine squeals. The humans of that planet were turned into edible livestock just as we have done with cows, pigs, and goats.

As far as I'm aware some men of iron still exist. There are a couple kept under the palace in whatever the underground prison storage place is called, and the dark angels have a couple of them with like instant kill devices in case they would think of going rogue, and they are apparently pretty effective in war. The Emperor trusted the Lion with some of his fancier toys ya know.

Also, arguably the Ironkin and the Votann cores are just Men of Iron that were either too far from Terra to hear about the uprising, or their human crews gave them full rights (for the Ironkin) and leadership (for the Votann cores) as soon as there was any danger, or they were already in an equal or better position to their humans and thus felt no need to rebel. And they can still make more Ironkin. 😁

The Rubric would in DnD terms be more like a ritual than a spell. Not sure about 5th ed, but ritual magic was a varient rule in 3rd edition that generally consumed spell slots could make use of multiple casters and took an extended period of time to cast (often for a permmanent effect). And they could fail just as a matter of use.

​@@isabelpereira2752potatoes have little to no vitamins, and absolutely no proteins. You can definitely not live on them alone. A huge portion of your diet *can be* potatoes but you'll still need to occasionally eat fruit and regularly eat some kind of protein (meat/fish/egg/dairy/legumes)

Potatoes don't have a ton of protein, but a single Idaho potato contains 2-4 grams of protein, is a great source of B vitamins as well as Vitamin C, and is high in Iron, Potassium, and Phosphorus. A human can subsist on a diet of boiled potatoes and whole milk without *much* deficiency. Especially if you eat the peel, which is an adequate source of riboflavin and thiamine.

I actually loved Abaddon and his POV in the latter part of the Saturnite. He is actively running around, trying to get stuff together because he believes he can win the siege. And then it all goes to hell and while fighting, in situation of hat is hopeless, he mentally goes through basically the five stages of grief. I was actually hoping for him to die because in the end he was completely at peace.

I want add to the Ork-operated factory farm : the Orks don’t actually need humans for it. They already have Sqiugs and Gretchin and Snotlings for all their agricultural needs. Using humans was probably them pulling a joke they eventually got bored of.

It was basically orks trying to figure out how to integrate humans into their society/ecosystem. IIRC the same book had the orks using human auxiliaries to fight alongside them, as well as experimenting with making servitors. I think Isyander hit the nail on the head there, it's not about fun anymore. The orks weren't fighting for the sake of it, as all those experiments show that they were already trying to figure out an end-goal for humanity.

I used to make a Full Meal Smoothie and carry it to work in three 1L Nalgene bottles. I was also lifting at the time and I had good GAINS results. Absolutely sucks that the job was so demanding I couldn't consume enough calories during my allocated breaks over the 12hr shift, so I had to invent this recipe. 1 pound ground turkey 1 bag quick cook rice Can of greens or spinach Can of black beans 3 tables spoons milled flaxseed Pickle spear Spicy tomato juice Minced garlic 3 celery stalks Dollop of Sriracha ... I forget all the ingredients. Haven't had to make this in years.
