I feel like Kurt Angle is a good answer for this. He was I think the highest paid star for WWE at the time in 2006. Kurt was THE reason to watch ECW or Raw or Smackdown. He was literally on every brand that year.

Taker and his streak should of went out on top but for some reason all parties just agreed it had to end. Dumbest flop in WWE booking. He should of took that streak all the way to his retirement and made it a milestone for all future stars to try and strive to beat but no one will ever beat it.

It must have grated all the boys who had to job clean for Brock hard from the moment he stepped on the main roster trying to get him over only for him to leave two years later 🤣 The reason they call it doing the favor's is because once you're over they can maybe make money off your ass by you returning it now and again for the next decade. But he just squashed everyone and bailed. The most hilarious ending to it all was he could have used all his momentum to actually make a guy on the way out but his final bout was jobbing to Goldberg who left on the same day...
