I think the issues with the Miz were the result of mutual misconception. Some wrestlers backstage, or at least many of the ones with a lot of stroke, thought he was this cocky reality show guy who didn't respect pro wrestling and thought it'd just be an easy payday. The Miz was a young, energetic guy who was brand new to pro wrestling and hadn't paid his dues. So, he had to show the boys backstage that their impression of him was wrong and he worked his @$$ off to do it. He's someone that's never gotten a lot of the respect from some fans that he should because he doesn't go out there and perform dangerous spots that serve no purpose but to pop the crowd and get chants. He was never a chant chaser, and he couldn't have cared less about what Dave Meltzer and other like minded "journalists" thought, so the indie crowd didn't embrace him.

I think the issues with the Miz is he's a douchebag and nobody likes him. Because he's a douchebag. But now, everyone is a douchebag. So Miz is like an elder statesman of douchbaggery. Miz walked into WWE with an unearned position because he won a gameshow. Meanwhile, there were guys on the roster who went thru hell to climb to the top and poured decades of their lives into wrestling. Miz's undeserving presence, cockiness, and pretty boy looks offended many people as a result. His entire character for close to 20 years now is a very self-involved, whiny douche. Miz is also an unremarkable, uninteresting wrestler who's too conservative in the ring and deliberately avoids taking bumps. He works hard, but there's absolutely nothing remarkable about him. He was world champ at a time when WWE was hurting for talent and didn't have a lot of top tier stars. He belongs in the upper-mid card on his best day. A few years before or after his world title run? He never would've even been considered. I know I may be in the minority, but there's just SOMETHING that I can't stand about The Miz. Not sure what it is, but something about him makes him incredibly unlikeable.

You're leaving out why Austin didn't want to work with Mero, Mero had just been powerbombed by Sable. If I remember the story Austin called them and said something along the lines of "So who am I going to be working with? Because the guy that I'm booked with just got powerbombed by a 120lb woman on national television." 😂. I also don't blame him for walking out over the Lesnar program, Austin and Lesnar should have been a pay per view match at the very least.

That wasn't his only backstage incident though....or you're just that much of a Austin fan ..
@josephmelendez83709 күн бұрын
@khesipresents1885 no it wasn't, but welcome to the wrestling business cupcake that's how it went, more than half of the people in it were scumbags. He also beat his wife too while you're over there reaching for your Kleenex box over a man you don't know. I never said that he was a saint, I never said that he didn't do anything else, but in these cases he had a point. Besides his reputation back stage while known for being stubborn, is not a bad one.
@josephmelendez83709 күн бұрын
@khesipresents1885 Look cupcake I never said that he was a saint, that was just how the business was. Most of them were scumbags and you had to be firm to watch your own spot. Still his reputation backstage is not a bad one. Everyone politicked, and in the cases that I just brought up I feel that he was justified.

HBK being at the top makes sense, but with what they did, Warrior and Sable really should've been bumped up to 2 and 3 respectively.

The most unlikely to ever get an executive role.. Shawn Michaels. The irony in this is eye opening given how much of a jerk he really was behind the scenes.

Neville was on his way out, Enzo just was the last straw and an excuse to go. Vince hated the whole cruiserweight title and the 205 stuff and Neville knew he couldn't go anywhere with Vince in charge so he went back to being Pac.

Hell yeah. He had a better understanding on how his character worked, because it was just him, turned up to 11. Front office had some stupid angles. Austin saving Stephanie from a human sacrifice by the Undertaker - in the ring! Yeah. Steve was right to call BS on some things.

Hey yo . . . One of the benefits of Evolution . . . of Hunter working closely with Ric Flair for years, is Flair taught Hunter how to avoid mistakes and pitfalls as the booker. We can talk about Ric Flair bookings . . . that guy made mistakes. But he's a champ, and so is Hunter. So kid, don't make the same mistakes I made. Which are the following . . . Lesson 1, lesson 2, lesson 3, etc. Hunter learned and I think he runs a good book. Focused on wrestling. No hokey, marriage bull crap or childish stories. Wrestling. Period. Hunter is booking wrestling. I like that.
