That's an awesome and huge chicken coop. Another point that was overlooked in the video is that Joe the owner, who is not a small guy, was able to stand inside the hen house and move around quickly to get his girls outside. That shows the incredible durability, strength, and craftsmanship of your product! I doubt he could do that with any other coops out there. Beautiful Coop. Awesome Job.

I love doing deep litter! My only issue is I have ducks now that insist on living with my chickens, so I can't do it anymore. No neat that you have a system built in!!

muonwap they bring in too much moisture. The inside of the coop needs to be pretty dry in order for the deep little method to work well. :)

if we are in the area where we did a custom coop, we will do an update. We are super busy, so going out somewhere just to do an updates isn't usually possible. But we totally want to if we can.

When I 1st started watch KZbin videos I hated the ads but then a quality creator that I really like said that it was important for him to be able to make videos so now I watch the ads and do not skip especially on creators that I like I even signed in and created a profile because that helps support the creators that I like. I think that you should monetize your channel because KZbin makes money off of you weather you monetize your channel or not you should get a cut as a small business owner it is important to have multiple revenue streams people use your information that you share to make there own coops which is not a bad thing but knowledge is power and getting a little kick back from KZbin is not a bad thing or selling out as long as you keep the quality of your work and videos up I would use that money for employee appreciation

Thank you for the compliment. What we mean is that with our coops, with the covered runs, there really is no reason to ever have to clean out your run. If you add organic substrate, such as leaves and grass clippings, and the chickens are scratching, the inside of the run just breaks down into dry soil full of beneficial microbes. This is also provided you haven't overloaded your coop with chickens. We believe strongly that our customers have no reason to ever have to clean their chicken runs.

I absolutely love your coops. They are the most beautiful and humane ones I have seen. As a Floridian I did have a couple questions on safety I hope you can answer. 1. I have read and heard the deep litter method gets too hot for warm climates. Have you heard of any concerns from owners in florida regarding this with your coops meaning it might be more beneficial to clean them out more often or is the ventilation the coop provides enough for the heat and humidity we have. 2. I'm glad you mentioned the hurricane brackets as that was another concern of mine, but what category of hurricane do you believe your coops can handle without blowing away if strapped down and would the chickens be safe to withstand the storm inside? And does this also apply with tornadoes?

Beautiful coop for beautiful chickens! My concern for you gentlemen, is that your chickens are near a lake. Many lakes in Florida have alligators. What are you two going to do to protect the chickens when they free range?

There is a chain link fence that is four foot tall and is buried 1’ in the ground all the way around they entire property to keep alligators off his property.

for the floor of the henhouse, we use HDPE, however, when we started we just had a wood floor (premium plywood) and we recommend just oiling it with a linseed oil to keep out moisture.

Robert Laird we sell polycarbonate panels to our customers that feel that their chickens could benefit from the added protection. Mainly snow. However polycarbonate is very expensive so we have suggested that you can wrap your coop in plastic to save money. It just may not look as good as the crystal clear polycarbonate panels.

You are always talking about ventilation and chickens being hot. Why on earth would you use a black roof that attracts/absorbs solar energy ? In Florida and the rest of the southern Gulf Coast especially, the difference in solar energy absorption is well documented.

Hi Bob, that's a valid point, however, metal has a low thermal mass, so heat isn't absorbed into the roofing material and then transmitted into the coop as it is with asphalt roofing. In fact, the Florida Solar Energy Center states that metal roofing absorbs about 34 percent less heat than asphalt shingles. The painted metal roofs we use are even more energy efficient that plain metal roofing. (yes, even black roofing!) These roofs not only reflect solar energy, but also re-emit most of the solar energy that the coop absorbs. It's called the SRI (solar reflectance index). Thank you for bringing up this issue, it gives us an opportunity to show people why we choose what we use.
