The most impressive thing about Golan in this video was his humor. When he said to Hikaru, the bongcloud GM, "I heard you're familiar with this opening," I died!

What's better is that he plays the bong cloud and *has fun* (kinda the idea when you're playing a game...) It represents far greater success than maximising your chances of winning and being anti-social to concentrate on boosting your own ego.
@3sm1rost84
@3sm1rost84 3 жыл бұрын
@@george474747 I have to disagree here. What do you gain by giving Hikaru additional advantage with the BongCloud ? He's gonna win no matter what, so it's not really about the ego. In the opponent shoes I'd just play a standard opening, so that maybe I can learn something out of Hikaru's response, even though of course the final outcome of the game will never be uncertain.
@stupidguy97

@george you completely missed the point of the comment you’re responding to. His point was that the kid has an endearing personality because he has enough spunk to hope to win against Nakamura using the Bongcloud.

@@3sm1rost84 seems Golani wanted a more equal position. His early game bongcloud transposition kept the game even after the knights moved. He just made mistakes after that point. He played like a true aspiring chess genius. This kids going places
