Actual chess player who knows the rules here. He did indeed cheat the kid. He made the move, stopped touching the piece and then pressed the clock. After doing both he cannot take back his move, regardless of what rule set they are playing in. Having said that: In a casual game he still could have asked for a take back. At 8:10 does the trick Bishop D6 win? If KxB then pawn queens with an attack on the a pawn and the g knight. If nothing then it seems like increased draw chances.

The amount of intelligence coming from such a young looking and sounding is a bit surreal. Not just his chess ability which deliverately handicapped but also his social intelligence.

What about pushing c6 in that ending position? If knight takes on c6, you can trade it with your own knight on d4, and if pawn takes on d4, you can take on b7 with the c pawn. The b7 knight can retreat to d6, but you can still play b5, trade pawns and play kb5. Idk, what do you guys think?

Why did t he take the pawn with the king at 8:17? I understand he’d get a check but it looks like an easy check to run away from. What am I missing?

if you leave a piece that’s where it is no moving it afterwards carl

Yeah, that was not cool. To make it worse, he did it on the kid's time, and then the kid had to burn up time talking about it afterward.

@@rickrick5041 What is this Oppenheimer rule you speak of, no hits on Google, something to do with Oppenheimer vs. Einstein game?
@nickshavermatson4 жыл бұрын
@@rickrick5041 I have no idea what the Oppenheimer rule is, or how the kid was cheating. There is definitely a rule against changing your move after you have hit the clock though. There's no rule in street chess regarding stating your rating. Carlini knew the kid was lying about his rating.

For many years I thought chess was very boring but then my son taught me to play and to my amazement it is the most mind engrossing activity I have ever done , Wow to chess

Calrini lost the piece...be fair..he pressed the clock...and then he change it..that's an illegal move. The kid won!

@@rickrick5041 shut up with your disingenuous talk. Also the kid barely okayd it because he felt pressured into it. Look at his face and what he says right after Carl does that BS. Don't give me that shit. stop embarrassing yourself.
