Absolutely hilarious. Carlini blunders his knight. Bryan: "Wait is that a free piece right there?" Carlini realizes cheats and moves the piece! The kid lets him cheat, points out he cheated, lets him give a load of BS as an excuse, and then proceeds to mention the touch rule. I would say that Bryan has a future as a hilarious hustler, but he's already doing it now at age 9!

4:59 Carlini hangs his knight and hits the clock. Then he illegally takes the move back after the kid tells him it's a free piece. Every other comment pointing this out has a reply under it by some Rick rick (probably someone running Coffee Chess or Carlini himself) saying it's legal move under some made up Oppenheimer rules which is total bs. According to the WBCA (World Blitz Chess Association) rules, a player who makes an illegal move loses the game instantly. Carlini lost.

Just found your channel, will be binge watching every video during this stupid COVID-19 crap. Awesome channel, I am a lifelong chess player although I admit I am not great, I would really like to improve my skill...I love the game. I picked it up very quickly, but have had a harder time reaching the pro level...I feel like a very defensive player and sometimes it's hard for me to formulate an offense. I simply try to play "better D" until they slip up and I get some kind of piece advantage...I can't wait to see what I can learn from your videos. Absolutely love the channel, keep rocking dude.

@Peter Evans Solid point in your second sentence. I still believe that there's been distinct generational changes with each successive family. My Grandfathers father through to me have been enormous differences in social etiquette. Through my life, it's clear the once strict custom of: seen but not heard was diminishing and now it seems nearly abandoned for the betterment.

Haven’t played chess in a long time, I’m curious about 02:29 the middle of the board where there are 2 black pawns facing the white pawn. Isn’t there a rule that says that you have to take a piece with a pawn if it within its striking distance?

Actual chess player who knows the rules here. He did indeed cheat the kid. He made the move, stopped touching the piece and then pressed the clock. After doing both he cannot take back his move, regardless of what rule set they are playing in. Having said that: In a casual game he still could have asked for a take back. However, just taking the move back and then pretending that this was a legitimate thing to do is, in my opinion, quite ungentlemanly conduct.

@@rickrick5041 You have to win the troll award on this thread man. Did you use a bot to seek out every instance of someone saying he took his move back, or did you spend the time yourself? If so that is dedication to your meme... even though you posting "the Oppenheimer rule" over and over again does get pretty annoying. :)

What about immediately advance the pawn at c6 to c7? That puts the knight on b8 under threat, which, if taken, would ALSO allow that pawn to advance to queen. Of course, black could follow that with Nxc7, but then white can do Nxc7.

Thanks for the analysis at the end! If black accepts the exchange of knights after 1. Nf5 Nxf5 2. gxf5 Kf6 what is the way forward for white? Seems wrong to protect with 3. e4 giving black a protected passer after 3...d4. I'm not seeing how to break through on the queenside. We don't sac 4. Bxd4 exd4 5. Kxd4...do we?

What about pushing c6 in that ending position? If knight takes on c6, you can trade it with your own knight on d4, and if pawn takes on d4, you can take on b7 with the c pawn. The b7 knight can retreat to d6, but you can still play b5, trade pawns and play kb5. Idk, what do you guys think?

@@rickrick5041 I have no idea what the Oppenheimer rule is, or how the kid was cheating. There is definitely a rule against changing your move after you have hit the clock though. There's no rule in street chess regarding stating your rating. Carlini knew the kid was lying about his rating.
