It's actually healthy, training sparring and fighting only a very low percent high level professionals receive brain damage because they make millions to have high level power and not use headgear, your obviously paranoid and afraid of anything but you should be more afraid of the brain, organ damage of them cheeseburgers.

When I was an amateur boxer I used to hate seeing the kids box. Their brains aren't fully developed yet. I used to see 8 yr old almost knocked unconscious in sparring. Sparring is the silent killer of boxers.

The idea is an oxymoron. On the one hand you have to respect the talent it takes yet to have a kid involved...during their development years...taking constant blows to the head. Bad idea. Have to choose. Brain intact (no full contact sports open to head trauma) or risking internal damage to be a champ. In Thailand boys join Muay Thai gyms for income. They give their lives to help feed their families. There is mostly about survival. Fight or starve. Mom & Dad is missing the point. :) As talented as Zoey is in this video...she might not make it to the top and leave boxing. By then she would have taken so much head trauma. And I'm not sure if there will be the same pay day's as the men for decades to come. Will that ever happen? I'm all for "training like a boxer (no ring time)" for fitness. To be conditioned like a boxer. But if we have a choice (and we're not fighting for income/survival)...
