Another great video, neighbor. A Blackstone griddle has been on my list for a while. Hoping to get one this year.

Thanks so much for all the support! I really appreciate it! Hope you can get that Blackstone as well!

I was reluctant to get a Blackstone for years because I'm a wood/charcoal guy. I finally bought one a couple years ago and I use it 2-3 times a week. I love using wood/charcoal but it takes a lot of time for a weeknight meal. The Blackstone delivers a great meal in 15 minutes!

Fantastic advice and video. Also love seeing your griddle isn’t “perfect.” The b-roll footage was perfect.
@thehungryhussey9 сағат бұрын
I've logged a lot of cooks on that griddle and there's one thing for sure, if someone uses their griddle, it's not going to look perfect. It'll have some issues somewhere for sure and that's okay!

Smash burgers and cubed chicken breast marinated in teriyaki with meat mitch seasoning are my go-to meals. Also, onion Patty's are so freaking good!!!
@thehungryhussey9 сағат бұрын
That’s a great combo for the griddle! Onion patties? Like chopped up onions in like a batter and then fried?
@zchburke6 сағат бұрын
@@thehungryhussey take a whole sweet onion and slice into 4 round sections. Throw them on the griddle whole in some avacodo oil without breaking the rings apart. Throw your favorite seasoning on them. I call um onion Patty's.

Great video! One thing I liked about Betty"s advice was to use a stone on it to get it smooth then wash it and start the seasoning process. Also cook with onions. I'm about to do that process with a 28 inch I got for my Birthday. I do this with Lodge cast iron, use a angle grinder with a 80 grit sanding wheel just on the cooking surface until its bare metal and nice and smooth. Then start seasoning and cooking on it. Man that turns a cheap Lodge skillet into a smooth nonstick pan that will last a lifetime. Lodge is great I just don't care how they pre-season stuff. Again great video man keep it up!!

Betty's method is great for sure!

Prep, prep, prep and prep. Having things ready really helps with not letting the griddle temperatures get away from you. Just my inexperienced opinion. 😅

Love your channel. bought two of the internal temp magnets. is there any way you can make one that is 8 1/2 by 11? these are two small. this way I can hang it right near my blackstone!! thanks for all you do. I get so many great ideas and recipes from you
@thehungryhussey9 сағат бұрын
I'm really sorry you feel they're too small my friend. I do have a free PDF download on my site that can be printed and then laminated. I just don't sell one that large as a magnet.
@craig88683 сағат бұрын
@@thehungryhussey I just downloaded the pdfs from your site. my eyes are not what they used to be and I don’t have my readers on when I cook!! lol. I totally enjoy your channel and your heffer dust!!

What do you think about the silicone cover ?
@thehungryhussey8 сағат бұрын
Personally, I'm not a fan. I think it could be a stick mess that has to hang somewhere. Also, if someone don't clean the griddle the best and have some moisture on it then they lay the silicone cover over that will breed rust in a heartbeat.
@johnbrzenksforearm829518 сағат бұрын
Also, acidic foods such as sauerkraut, tomato based sauces, etc will take your seasoning off your griddle. So if Im in the mood for some sauerkraut and kielbasa Ill cook the sausage on the griddle and the sauerkraut in a pan on the griddle.

Here's advice to you who live in the south and may not fully follow common sense of English terminology. Groceries are what you buy, not what you eat. Hussey has made this a statement thinking it's cool. But it's really dumb. Plus, this video as a whole.... Fully Blackstone sponsorship. Hey Hussey, Oil is not Erle. Please speak proper english.
