Mike can’t tell you how much I needed this right now. Listened to it while working. By myself started last year and I have 27 years experience in every part of Landscaping. Constantly thinking is this the right thing an I doing a good job an I taking too long I need more customers but I’m not advertising but why am I not getting them. I see other companies getting work and I keep thinking why can’t I get that. Blah blah blah. It was a good pep talk

If your an LLC in most states you cant represent yourself, your forced to get an attorney to represent the company. so at the point you get a lawyer, keep ya mouth shut dont talk about it and let the lawyer handle everything. from experience, never talk to the employee, customer, or whoever is sueing ya and if they contact you the only words you say is "talk to my lawyer" and ignore them. If you didnt form an LLC, its a nightmare and I still advise a lawyer cause yea its expensive, but if you messed up bad enough to get sued, without an LLC be prepared to lose everything or have a lien on everything so you can never sell nothing [if you lose] longstory short, never ever as a small business represent yourself, its like riding a pogostick blind through a minefield.

Mike, my husband is in landscaping so your content intrigued me! I also found that a lot of it is useful in my side business - house keeping. I guess this applies to all, but as you were speaking about hiring, how do I hire help without feeling like they’re capable of going out there, finding clientele and doing the exact same thing I’ll train them to do.. (I have no debt so not able to quite say that I need to pay for equipment). Feels like I’m using the help in a way.. making profit just cause I have great results (which will be delivered by an employee at that point..) Having trouble hiring since I can’t get over the road block

That feeling when starting out is very accurate nobody sees all the stress, lost sleep, arguments with the spouse, struggling to pay bills etc. Then when you get it all together, you have guys talk smack cause the “boss is on vacation again” or takes take a few days off. We tend to hire too slow especially management.

Sometimes we get so much pride from doing so many different roles in our business that we can't see the ignorance/problems it causes. "I probably would have fixed the pto cable!" I'm for this type of content, i always listen to these types of videos in my pocket anyway while I'm working on something. So hearing things ive already heard you say over and over again still motivates/teaches me. I think most entrepreneurs listen to educational videos vs watching them. I own a construction business. What I do is so specialized it would take years to train someone to do 80% of what I can. I’ve worked for companies worth hundreds of millions and it was always chaos. I don’t care to support a huge payroll. If I need help I subcontract. I’m not a people person and prefer working alone. I do pretty good and I’m able to invest my money. It’s not about how much you make . . . it’s about how much you’re able to keep. Doesn’t matter if you’re making millions. If it’s all going to employees and insurance companies there is no point.

So you did it all wrong, didn't account for your companies profits and said screw it I'm going to do it all myself. If you're not a people person there is 0 reason for you to watch these videos. You are wasting time. Go do your work by yourself, the easy way with little benefit to you. Your money is equal to YOUR output. So good luck
@zackzander425

@@user-sx8gn9uz4o🤔 didn’t account for my profit? I’m not mowing lawns and raking leaves for Karen. I make more by myself in a day than most of these owners make sitting in their office while they send out their immigrant crew in a financed truck with financed equipment. You see landscaping and cutting grass is low skill work. The only way you will make money is with volume. You keep watching these videos; I’ve got a vacation to pack for tomorrow. My house is paid off and so is my truck and all my equipment. You better hit a new neighborhood tomorrow with some door hangers so you keep the money coming in for your crew.
