We have a 2021 Lance 1172 that we bought new and we are thoroughly enjoying it. Yeah, it’s a bummer not being able to access the camper with the slides in, but the trade off is having a couch and comfortable place to sit when the weather is less than agreeable. It only takes seconds to run the slides out and we’re used to it during stops. The dry bath is really nice as well. We just got back from a month long trip from Texas to California and Oregon. 5,800 miles and no issues other than the water pump going out. But, anyone who RV’s knows those water pumps aren’t the greatest and only a 20 minute job to replace. We highly recommend the Lance 1172!

Hey Brad, we're coming up and we will stop in. I can't promise you anything. I'm old so a slide on a 975 opening up and closing might be a big drain on the battery. Yes, I would could always crank the generator. So we looked at a 960, the wife liked it but I didn't. 40 years of marriage we talk about things then she gets her way. I'm only kidding. Anyway I will call first, if you sold the 2023 , 975 that's ok, there are two dealers matching your price and ONE has the back porch. Hope you had a good vacation. Bill in Ga. Great to see new improvements since I got my 2022 1172 I see there’s an extra compartment on the front. And the upgraded heating system. Kind of disappointed with Lance and my dealership. My camper shower wall cracked in 3 places. Lance gave the dealership are hard time about how it cracked. I had no idea we hadn’t even used the camper. It obviously wasn’t installed properly. We also had one empty propane tank and it was leaking. The fridge wouldn’t work on any mode. They found the line pinched off when the slide went out. Every thing is being looked after but our camper is a year old we’ve used it once. Now it’s at the dealer no idea how long before it’s ready. They’re going to store it and winterized it. I don’t know if I would buy another Lance certainly not from this dealer.

That’s unfortunate, I don’t see those issues out of the ones I’ve sold. And I’ve sold a lot. Blessed to say the biggest issue we’ve had in the past year are a fridge display went out, a manual awning wouldn’t retract itself, and my camper I purchased had a leak in the shower line at the connection that needed to be tightened a hair more. All simple stuff, and mostly supplier issue, not Lance… although I can blame the leaky shower line on them. I do know there is not a single camper brand out there that exempts you from having issues though, they all have their problems, some more then others.

It’s a awesome setup but 97k for the camper and another 80-100k for a truck 200k and I personally think a 1 ton would have the capacity for it but I think a 4500 would be better if you were going to haul it all over the country just my personal opinion I have a dully now and I can tell you from experience that 4500 pounds in the bed is a good amount of weight

I hate the whole destination charge thing. I never understand it. Why does the dealer pass off a charge from the manufacturer onto the consumer For taking delivery of the product? Seems like every time I go to buy something and I see that i say forget it I don’t want it. Ughhhh

Because it's a SHIPPING CHARGE. It costs money to ship the camper from the manufacturer to the dealer. You know, just like the shipping charge for an automobile? The shipping charge is part of the cost of the unit, not something absorbed by the dealer.

Only way to stop this price insanity is just walk away from it folks. Lets remember...just 4 yrs ago, that same setup would have been half that price. This applies to trucks, cars, etc. Only thing to stop this kindof inflation is to stop paying gangster prices until the market comes back down. Hang on to your current models, and/or buy used until this insanity gets under control. And remember who butters your bread in November, and i hope youre smart enough to figure that out.

Higher quality 5th wheel is $200k+. My boss has a $140k Momentum Toy Hauler and has said himself it’s not as well put together as Lance.

You can get a Riverstone optioned out for 100k that is like a mansion on wheels compared to this shoe box and you can pull it with a truck that you can actually fit into a parking spot at the grocery store. Duallys are horrible unless you have weight on them and something like this forces you into owning one.

There is not a Forrest River product out there that is better built then Lance lol the $200k fifth wheels and toy haulers I could think of being better would be Luxe and Beacon. Truck Campers are easier, convenient, still tow your boat or motorcycle trailer behind “legally”, and go anywhere your truck goes, where as you’re limited with a tow behind. I have owned both and currently trying to sell my pull behind ‘with more room’ to go back to a sardine can

I don’t think an F450 would be a good choice of truck for this camper. I’ve seen payload numbers around 5000lbs. Even at 6000lbs you’re going to be pushing it once it’s fully loaded with people and all your stuff. The F350 has a significantly larger payload mainly because it’s much lighter than the F450.

I disagree, we have owned and hauled these with both and the F450 is a beast of its own. The payload numbers are an absolute joke. We had to have suspension support to haul a 975 in the 350 we had, no suspension support needed for the 450. Same options, same diesel engine. They’re under rated to keep them in a residential status even though it absolutely kills the 350.
