It happens for any unique content type - someone does it, then anyone else who does similar content gets accused of copying their content or style. While there are some pretty bad SummoningSalt clones out there (including one who apparently used all of the same music, though I haven't seen that myself), Bismuth provides a very different, and often far more technical take on the genre. Like he said during the 'collab' part of the video, they're complementary styles and different takes on the same broad subject matter. Oh, and please give us a full cover of We're Finally Landing. The bit we got was awesome!

I love editing as well, as with the music (sounds like I'm buttering but its simply true) I simply knew more about the editing process and still haven't seen the best of editing. People might be quick to jump to a comparison between you and SummoningSalt, but I don't think it's entirely baseless. I remember seeing a comment that went "Bismuth for Sciences, and SummoningSalt for History", which I think is pretty spot-on. You two might "teach" different topics in different ways, but you both work in the same "school".

Weirdly enough your relationship with summoning salt reminds me a bit of the relationship between MOTI and Juno songs. Not to brag, but I think I saw the Pannenkoek inspiration/influence when I watched the video the first time; The visual style of editing & moving around Mario & maps & simple geometric images was very reminiscent of his style, & I liked it. Anyhow, since you would be open to explaining speed runs of games other than retro (as long as the science behind it is complexe and interesting), would games from a console like the ps1 suit your interest?
