Interesting! I am a lucky lad! Growing up in Phoenix AZ in the '80's. I worked at a record store in a mall from Freshman year of high-school to the end of my first year of university! 1981 to 1986. I am 55.5 years old! So, as I am into this video for only 1 minute... I will Judge for All The Generation X (boomers get a pass...jazz, etc)......Let's get it!!!

A lot of good choices Joey. Lots of respect for the breadth of music diversity/history. As an old dude (54), it is nice to see the next gen picking up good habits. A couple of suggestions across eras/genres: Pantera: Cowboys from Hell, Jurassic 5 : Power in Numbers, J. S. Bach: Brandenburg Concertos, and I can't believe you didn't include Guns 'n Roses: Appetite for Destruction. Good stuff Padawan.

Omg we have very similar tastes. When 10k days came out i seen them in tour and they had MELT BANANA open for them. They then proceeded to have a jam session while the singers of each band played rock paper scissors. That was actually my very first concert too.

Most of your list I kinda agree with, a fair few I'd never heard of, But "Animals" is my favourite Pink Floyd album, with "Meddle" a close second. I'm a lot older than you. I'm going to have to look up some of these Albums, but not the Hippity Hop. Some Differences - "Starless and Bible Black", "Revolver" and "Aqualung".

Joey, I've noticed you put a bunch of punk bands, you should try listening to this one called Leftover Crack the album Mediocre Generica. It's amazing. The lyrics. The instrumentals. Complete bangers. And if you really enjoy it then the Fuck World Trade album would be a definite must to listen too. I've kinda outgrown the whole punk scene but that band shape my life.

The Anime Man? Also the music man. What amazing recommendations. You have godlike taste
@scottycunningham14132 жыл бұрын
Damn, Joey has sick taste in music. It's so rare to find a fellow anime/manga fan with actually good music taste. Most of them think that Linkin Park and SOAD are the pinnacle of music. Not knocking either of those groups but you need to broaden your horizons if you think those are the greatest bands of all time.
@sickfitz42562 жыл бұрын
Personally, I love SOAD and Linkin Park but broooooo there is so much more music I love besides those bands (MF DOOM, Tyler, Outkast, Wu Tang, Biggie, etc)
@sickfitz42562 жыл бұрын
It is important to listen to lots of different kinds of music and you can get different experiences out of it
@scottycunningham14132 жыл бұрын
@@sickfitz4256 both are great bands, I agree. I just don't think that they are at the most elevated of status, even in their Genre. Comparing SOAD and LP to a band like Zeppelin wouldn't make sense, different realms. But to me, the greatest band of the 2000s alt metal variety was Deftones. But yeah that's basically what I was getting at. There's a whole world of music out there from various different times to enjoy and too many gamers and otaku are stuck in a box musically.

2:16 I saw TOOL on Monday for the first time, they were incredible. If you’re thinking about seeing them live - just do it. You won’t regret it. Also, Ten by Pearl Jam needs to be up there and aja by steely Dan 7:53 as a progrock fan, I have to like jethro tull. Takes you on a journey and loses you on the way 10:50 Thank goodness you put rush on otherwise I would have flipped tables. I don’t hate yes but rush is by far and away the best progrock band of all time. Period. 12:13 indeed a great fucking album So many math rock bands and yet not a single mention of covet

I listen to alot of these albums aswell, but I probably would have put some german stuff (especially hip hop, because its my childhood), electronic music and pop in there. Also probably some more blues and jazz. On the topic of soundtracks: I listened to way too much Darren Korb. Every soundtrack he put out for SGG is just fire especially the Transistor album I tried to resist, but some albums that I would have to put on such a list: Weezer - Blue Album The Hendrix Experience (Jimmy Hendrix) - Are you Experienced Marina and the Diamonds - Electra Heart NMZS & Danger Dan - Aschenbecher Tupac - All Eyez on Me Rotfront - Emigrantski Ragamuffin Caravan Palace - Panic Infected Mushroom - Legend of the Black Shawarma Muse - Origin of Symmetry Rabih Abou Khalil - Blue Camel (or Cactus of Knowledge) Uplift Spice - オメガリズム Buena Vista Social Club - self titled Venetian Snare - Rossz Csillag Alatt Született goreshit - semantic compositions on death and its meaning Igorrr - Nostril (or Savage Sinusoid) Franz Josef Degenhardt - Schmuddelkinder Michael Jackson - Thriller (why is there no Michael Jackson album on your list ._.) Nina Simone - I put a spell on you (or pastel blues) John Coltrane - Giant Steps Renard - Because Maybe Haftbefehl - Blockplatin (He is a meme in Germany, but people misunderstand him XD) Samy Deluxe - Samy Deluxe Burial - Untrue Imogen Heap - Speak for Yourself The Glitch Mob - Drink the Sea Pisse - Kohlrübenwinter WTZ - Deutschpunk-REVOLTE Ryusenkei -Tokyo Sniper Miles Davis - Kind of Blue Probably missed half of my daily listens

My boy putting some respect on Pink Floyd's "Animals". Conceptually it's a great piece of work, with Roger Waters using the narrative in Animal Farm to critique modern Capitalism (always slipping in the politics). Sonically it is brilliant - that harmonised solo in Dogs *Chef's kiss*. Not to mention the exploitation of novel 8-track technology to loop both parts of Pigs on the Wing into eachother that bookend the album.

[OPINIONS] Some incomprehensible hipster music i really don't like, A few albums i haven't heard, Some of the best albums ever made, A couple debatable choices from artists with better albums. Really happy to see Close to the Edge getting some love and knew Joey was going to mention Tricot when he said "all female", Pool was the first math rock song i ever liked. This man has a very respectable taste in music. I personally enjoy a lot more trash (though Simple Plan was painful to see on the list (but at least it wasn't Nickelback)).
