Most of our new construction here uses a heavy plastic for the water main and most plumbers are changing over to PEX tubing, so the 2 ground rods driven is the only equipment grounding source. We are required to bond the gas service and any SSCT in the home. Great video however! Thank You for sharing.

I'm not an electrician, but I have worked around a couple. Part of me wishes I'd looked at it for a career, it's enjoyable. (I'm sure there are things that aren't great, like all jobs). I really appreciate the focus on the NEC and explanations. Sometimes figuring out what they mean / their intent isn't clear.

Great video, the code commentary makes me feel like I'm watching Mike Holt training videos but in real world scenarios. If you ever do take an apprentice they would be lucky to learn from someone so detail orientated like you.

Hey Ron. Another great episode. The bonding and grounding tutorial you added was really valuable. I bet a lot people watching don't appreciate how much additional time you spend editing your raw footage. Besides being a class-act electrician you're also a damn good editor! Keel em comin, Ron. Thanks again for your time!!!

I thought it was best practice to install the surge protection devices as close to the main breaker as possible. I do believe this is stated in some manufacturers install instructions of SPDs. 🤔

Boy, their was no doubt that breaker was gone, it looked like charcoal. Also that disconnect on the old panel was in upside down, you had to push it up into the "OFF" position. As the black you tube home inspector from Texas would say, "That ain't right".

Morning Ron, Question: Have you ever had an inspector require you to bond before and after that main incoming water valve? I know it's within the first 5ft of entrance to the dwelling but curious about before the valve as we're always told to do so.
@electricianron_New_Jersey4 ай бұрын
Nowadays, if I'm there to meet the inspector I won't take any "this is the way we do it here" sort of nonsense. I don't have time for that and I won't put up with that either. If the inspector is unsure but is telling me to do something that I know either isn't required or is just not right, I will stand up and explain to him how the Uniform Construction Code wants it done and why, in a respectful manner, of course.

Hi Ron, I’m putting a 100 amp main sub panel in right next to my 200 amp main. What size aluminum and what size copper is recommended for the 100 amp breaker and what size breaker do I use for inside the 200 main panel to feed it, thanks.

Hi Ron , I wanted to ask , when you look for ohms , what should your ohms be at , isn’t it supposed to be 25 ohms or less ?
