@@TheFIRESTARXAs someone who’s dived into the game, and the lore, I will say the lore is SO much better. The game can be fun, but only 1/4 of the time (when you win, and did well). The lore is consistently good (even if, as you said, there isn’t as much of it as you’d think) Also, watch arcane. jinx and vi are barely like their in game counterparts. They got rid of vi’s police brutality personality, and jinx is much more of a tragic insane character rather than the in your face love of explosions kind. (I also think they’re going to be updating their characters in game to reflect this sometime soon too)

They are connected with the void. The watchers whisper to their ears(heads) constantly trying to subdue and corrupt them. Which they did but somehow managed to control themselves a bit. And learning to create new magic, the blood magic. So they use this to transform themselves. But the ascended beings didn't like that so they sent one and teach mortals to seal them. The darkins turned into weapons. So the AATROX we see is not AATROX but the host. AATROX is the weapon.

Aatrox is neither a Demon nor from the void. He is a Darkin. A corrupted and weapon-bound Ascended(The guys that got celestial magic channeled into them, by the sun disk) and is actively trying to off himself, but can`t do it himself. So he decided to destroy the world in hopes of either dying in the process or finding an enemy that is strong enough.

@Kiki-3578 they(the Darkin) learned blood magic as a way to try to combat the void, and it drove them insane over time. They were bound into weapons as a punishment and a way to contain their power. Aatrox just didnt want to live on this planet anymore as a result from that imprisonment, but is functionally immortal as a result of the blood magic so...decided if he ends the world either he'll die, or everything will stop existing so he can just sleed off his immortality.

There are quite a few more cinematics that were done. Not only character trailers, you also have the Legends of Runeterra ones,, that focus on the main regions of Runeterra. There's also the Worlds videos, which are not lore related, but could still be a fun watch to see a bit of the competitive scene.

Fun fact: for every champion we probably have at least 5-7 not-yet-released potential characters from their backgrounds on average (like characters with deep enough lore and rough theme ideas), with some characters giving us WAY more Additionally we apparently have not even seen every nation, have MULTIPLE global powers that are so far only whispered about, or noticed by their absence, and so much more… so, likely, by the time they are tapped out, i could easily see 4 digits of characters

7:55 for context: You want to know something even more terrifying? Piltover and Zaun are the two smallest and "newest" regions in the game. Their history only starts around 200-ish years before present day Runeterra (there was stuff before that, but Piltover only started after the fissures broke and created the gasses, making the rich merchants move across the river where the air was clean). When we eventually get to like Noxus or even The Shadow Isles, the history is going to be able to go back millennia. If they make a season around Kayle and Morgana though? It's going to be so good. Morg is my second favourite character in the lore

the too angry to die was the one that got stabbed in the first one, he got impaled in the past by Aatrox (the big red guy in the same cinematic) and got infused with his blood magic, so, every time he gets too close to die he goes in this berserk way and just obliterates anything as his wounds heals, and while in this state he comes to see the Kindred itself trying to claim his (The wolf being a violent death, the one that gives chases to those who refuse to die, and the lamb being the calm one, the arrow who gets to those who accept death.) but, yeah, there's just so much lore out there. I could'nt talk about it in a comment alone.

Tryndamere just got flicked away by Aatrox on a battlefield, and was literally just too angry about it to die. Atreus (Pantheon) is the one youre thinking of, the one that got stabbed, killing the aspect Pantheon as a result (Before being ressurected by Atreus of course).

Dude, there are straight-up 170 champions, each with their own story. Some of these have changed a few times, etc. And if you look at the Runeterra map, they say this is just about 20% of it in terms of the map. I’m obsessed with League of Legends lore-Void, Darkin, Noxus, Demacia, Shurima, and all the intricate stories that bring this world to life. My passion runs so deep that there are very few people out there who are as dedicated (or crazy) as I am when it comes to diving into every detail, discussing theories, and unraveling the mysteries of this universe.

League has a novel too called 'Ruination'. Its about a disastrous major event in the lore of the world. Basically like a prequel to what you see in the 'black mist' cinematic and how viego ended up the way he is in the trailer.

Recent episode showed that ryze wasn't in arcane yet. It was viktor who gave jayce the rune stone and saved jayce and his mother at S1. Viktor was actually trying to save piltover/runeterra from his "glorious evolution" by changing the runes he gave to jayce in each attempt to get the favorable chain of events.

@ I’d be okay with a few retcons, like how they’re doing the void mixed with Victor. Haven’t seen act 3 yet. But maybe the events of Arcane like “Reopened the Void long since sealed by Ancient Shurima” and that’s when Malazahar first becomes the void herald. Then it goes back in time to the first ascended to tell the first war where they keep the story basically fully intact, how it is now.

Here are some explanations that makes these cinematics even better. tryndamere(also the one who got stabbed in the chest by garen 13:00) his ability is literally to cheat death thats why hes fighting kindred(the grimripper) all the time. black rose is a big group connected to the empire of noxus(noxus is the one invading ionia in 30:14). Jhin is a psychopath who sees art in killing. also fun fact if you trace every letter in the name jhin in your keyboard it will trace like number 4 since his ability is a critical hit every four attacks. Urgot 39:30 is a bounty hunter who hunts down mass murderers like singed in arcane. In the warrior cinematic sylas is fighting against garen and lux beacuse in demacia theyre racist against mages and lux and sylas are mages thats also why lux was kinda afraid to show her power at the start.

At first the lore was going like Lux after the mage uprising just go back in line (which is mocked by Swain) but after a lore update with the game MageSeeker she's now leading her own community of mages and demacia is now a bit better at treating people.

The fight scene with Kindred Vs Tryndamere ( the guy too angry to die) is actually him vs the soldiers we saw at the beginning. But since Kindred has two aspects, the lamb kills you with an arrow if you accept your time to die or Wolf if you refuse. If you die by Lamb your death is painless and peaceful, but by Wolf it's painful and horrible.

So, I played League for the first time in like 8 months last night because I was bored. My very first game back, I asked, "I've been gone for a while, who should I ban?". In the lobby, the VERY FIRST message I get is, "YOUR A PEDOPHILE. Shut up". I was going to count to see how many games I got to play before somebody said something horrible. The answer was zero. The most legendary thing about the game is how toxic its community is. Truly incredible. And, nothing Riot does seems to make a difference. I've played since season 2, and things are worse today than they have been at any other point in the game's history.

i think i really like the relationship and interaction between Tryndamere and Kindred. Tryndamere, has an ult called undying rage where he's literally just too angry to die and always at the edge of death, so explains and justifies that he's probably encountered Kindred way too many times.

Well, now that you mentioned it... Warcraft was doing epic cinematics for a long time too. Like, Warcraft 3 cinematics were jaw-dropping for its time. By "for its time," I'm talking about how League of Legends (and MOBA in its entirety) is based on DotA which was just a custom map in Warcraft 3, originally. It just grew so big it became its own gaming genre. So Warcraft 3 is technically the father of all MOBAs. The RTS game that low-key put the RTS genre out of the spotlight by spawning MOBA. I used to be big on World of Warcraft lore that I even bought the books. It's pretty fleshed out. And there's a lot to consume. But that was years ago. I was already gone by the time Blizzard ate dirt.

i love that nux felt the lore death of the infinity cinimatic. at the time leagues lore was in serious danger of being dropped. luckily arcanes hype and their rework of the lore saved it

You NEED to do the Tales of Runeterra cinematics as well, each one focuses on a different region in the world, gives you a good idea of the different regions/cultures and whatnot. But also champion cinematics (like Fiddlesticks, Xayah & Rakan, Kin of the Stained Blade, Annie etc), skinline cinematics (like Star Guardians, Lunar Revel, Odyssey etc), music videos (like K/DA, True Damage etc) and just everything else. Ow and Necrit's lore videos (very important). You can also react to the entire champion roster and such.

They made "heavy is the Crown" as the League of Legends World champion ship song. Its traditon at this point to start the year with a cinematic + song and to start the yearly Worlds with another song.

You absolutely gotta react or read Ruination lore about Viego since he's got the most amount of lore that Riot gave. That, and there's only 2 League of Legends books (and a novella) existed & just came out recently. One for Viego and one for Ambessa. So its really easy to get into if you want to know about the lore & backstory.

Man i love Kindred as a concept the lamb and the wolf two entitys in one. The lamb representing nice and painless dead while the wolf being an violent and cruel dead for those who refuse to accept the lamb gift. (it may not be this but this is how i understand it and i love it this way)

Well Nux they did plan an LoL MMORPG but they scraped the whole thing to reimagine it and rework the whole work they put in for like 3-5 years.... They seen that making a game that is popular for three months is not the way to go so yeah. They just scraped the whole old MMORPG they had planed to make a new one :D

There's a youtuber who's made memefest versions of a lot of the cinematics named Dumbs. Would recommend the memes (I believe that its for all the ones past "Awaken" as Asleep) in your free time. There's also Necrit who's the League of Legends lorekeeping enthusiast (He has a lot of videos explaining the significance of cinematics)
