The game of Basketball has been my passion since I was 5 years old. I grew up as a kid watching my dad's recorded VHS tapes of playoff games through the 70s and 80s, and collected all the Basketball cards. Something about the game and what it represents just hooked me from a very young age.

Great searching and overall great work for an hour Jonny, your investigation skills are Goat level. Something you forgot to mention is, in the best trade of all time, Bill Russell on his interview with Bill Simmons mentioned he would'nt play in the NBA if he was forced to play in the Hawks. The racism in that franchise was insane, usually Bob Pettit didn't want to play with black players, so the discrimination was on his highest peak when they drafted Russell. Even thought that team could have become a dynasty with the talent they have, Russell would'nt played in the league, less being a Goat candidate. Straight facts.

A LOT of games were not filmed back then, and it was seen as just another routine regular season game, but it was in little Hershey, Pennsylvania. It was away from where all the mainstream media folks worked, so by the time they heard of what Wilt was in the process of doing, no one could get over there fast enough. There is actually some of the radio broadcast on KZbin though, and it gave me goosebumps the first time I listened to it! really cool stuff.
