Turkish word for shark is "köpekbalığı" (literal meaning: dog-fish). We had the same connection as the Slovenes. Dogs may be cute, but they can bite too.

This is Indo-European feature (there are examples in Slovene, Croatian, Serbian, Italian, French, German, old English,...), Turkish probably borrowed the concept from Indo-European.

This was a great compilation. You can compare not only the differences between words, but also, and maybe it is even more funny, how different people from different culteres behave. Like who they tend to be more disciplined and who try to speak at the same time with other guests, who is calm, who smiles more etc.

Idk why did the venezuelan and peruvian folks were surprised by the word "subte", said by the argentinian. My language isn't Spanish, I'm Portuguese, but I guess it isn't hard to understand that "subte" is a shortened wordfor "subteraneo" (subterranean).

*Counting in French is a mess!* Y'all should unify and just use the Belgium and Switzerland way of counting. I do personally because who's gonna check me lol, it's my first language yees, but I live in Germany and counting like this makes way more sense... 60 = soixante 70 = septante 80 = huitante/ octante 90 = nonante Also I really don't get how the efficacy in Belgium skipped the 80 y'all went all the way to change 70 and 90, but skipped 4*20?? Make it make sense. Also France you really alone in this I can't think of a different country besides you who wouldn't just use septante. 😂 That's a rant, but daaamn I hate it so much.
