This is inspiring me to get back into making my own furniture. I never brought my stain and finishing skills to a level that i found satisfactory before i switched hobbies.

Your voice is so calming! Love it that you get straight to the point. Hate watching videos women rambling for 10mins and 20 minutes rambling while making pockets holes🙄... anyway, great video.

I love it!! And I love your soothing voice. ❤️ I want to make this bed for my husband and I, but I’m worried that since the mattress is just laying on top of the wood and not inside a frame would it move?

This turned out so beautifully! I have been looking at that Urban Outfitters bed frame for a long time but never could get myself to pay that price for it... I think I will try my hand with this DIY instead! Thank you ☺️

Did you ever try it? I love that Urban bed frame, but for $700 it has some bad reviews of it falling apart. I really want to try this DIY too. How did it go for you?
@brittanys123453 жыл бұрын
@@bbranch123 I almost got the stuff to make it, but I ended up buying a bedroom set secondhand that came with a wonderful bed and felt there was no reason to make a new one. The tutorial looks fairly do-able and materials wouldn’t be too expensive so I say you should go for it

Can you also please share what type of mattress you use since I don't think there's a Box Spring on the bed

Also what is the tool you are using to screw the rackets in I didn't see that listed either. This is stunning. I may have missed this info while watching. How high are the 4x4 blocks & what size corner braces did you use?Thank you so much.
@thesimplefarmhouse4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! You'll want to make the corner blocks just a bit longer than the width of the rails, so if you are using 2x6 rails, add a 1/2" - 3/4" in length on the 4x4 block. If you use thinner rails, match that width and add a 1/2' - 3/4" from there (If they are thinner, 3/4" longer blocks may look too long, so that's totally up to you and the reason I give a range). I used the metal brackets with three holes in them. They were the biggest ones available that still fit on the face of the 4x4.

Love it! How long did it take to make? Where is the duvet from? The link isn’t working.

Sorry the link wasn't working for you - It was from Target. I spent a Saturday putting it together and staining it. Thank you so much!

I am sorry I'm not understanding the brackets in the screws it going to them that you are using can you give specifics or links please.
@thesimplefarmhouse4 жыл бұрын
I used small corner (L) brackets and lag screws to give additional sturdiness to the structure. There are other ways to attach pieces, but I went a little overboard to be safe. :) Ask your local hardware store employee to locate those items if you aren't sure where they are.

Hello Barbra - I took a break this year to focus on some family things, but getting back into the swing of things gradually. I just saw your comments on the other videos - If you are referring to attaching bun feet, I purchased a tee nut to secure mine into the 4x4 leg portion. You can always ask for clarification at the hardware store if your bun feet need something in addition to that. Hope that helps!
