I don't work with wood, never have but along the inside rails for the straps, could you not set the straps to sit flush with the top edge of rails, connecting the straps together along the underside so you can lift all the straps at same time to clean underneath the bed, by sitting them inside the rails you wouldn't need to screw them down, or you could possibly put a hinge on the frame for the strap?

I want to do this now but I personally would lower the support a little bit just to get the mattress to sink in maybe 1 - 2 inches. What do you think?
@SEBTECHDIY4 жыл бұрын
It was going to go this way at first, and changed my mind but it's still not to late. I tough it would be easier to changer the sheets if the mattress was flush but i don't think it changed anything. So you could lower the 2x4 and the joist hangers by 1 or 2 inches. I think it will look slightly better! 🙂

xoHiba xo my bed is just like this one where the mattress is flush to the frame. Way simpler to change sheets. Only time the mattress moves is during strenuous extracurricular activities

@cocacolatgv4 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, I’m currently building mine and setting it 1.5 inches deep to hide the slats. That’s basically the depth of top horizontal piece. Lucky for me my mattress is light though so my wife won’t have trouble changing the sheets lol
@stillsearchingforsanity43324 жыл бұрын
@@dalechell1085 Could one not reduce the frame size slightly but keep everything at the same level? Then you've got the mattress mostly over the slats but partly over the frame to ensure slats will not be visible. Maybe 1" overlap of mattress on frame.

Me and my father in law are building this bedframe right now with a few modifications: Using the advice in the comments, the length of the boards are being adjusted and the slats sunken in about an inch so the mattress sits in place instead of directly on top. We’re also cutting out parts of both sides of the headboard to fit in an outlet/usb charger hub. Using a hole saw, we drilled through the headboard underneath the platform on either side so LED light strips can be routed through and assembled underneath to give it an ambient glow. Awesome video!

Not really, in fact there is no glue in this build, only pocket screws. Sure you will need to remove the lattice that i nailed on the top, but other than that its 5 big pieces, the 4 sides and the headboard. I think i would take me half an hour to dissasemble it. Remember that its regular wood screw that connect each side to each other, so if you move every years maybe the screws will become loose but it my case i dont plan to move alot. In case screws would become loose, you could add metal corner inside the frame. 👍😄
