I was practicing my midrange/approach discs through a homemade pvc pipe square today. Inspired by your hula hoop set-up. Love ya Pete! You and your family are still on my mind and in my prayers. Best wishes to you all. Great video!

So how did the practice go? Did the hoop help? The hoop doesn't lie :D Thanks so much for the prayers!

@@ogdiscgolfer the hoop told me the truth! And the truth is that my backhand approach shots need more work, but that my forehand is more trustworthy than I thought. Definitely a confidence builder when I'm faced with a small gap in the trees. I play mostly wooded courses and due to my inaccurate backhand shots I'm often left to scramble out behind trees. That probably explains why my forehand upshots are more on point. Your videos are definitely giving me food for thought! Thank you Sir!

Pete! Great stuff as always. So happy to see you on the remix train. I hopped on it last year and I'm bagging about 50% remix now. Love that torpedo, I reach for it twice as much as my buzzz's. love the Spartan. Love the behemoth which feels more like a nuke than a destroyer to me. The mystery plastic is so fun too. If you order bulk packs, they tend to match em up, but if you order individuals you get a random assortment of MVPs top plastics. The last two behemoths I ordered came in tie-dye neutron which is unbelievable for $12

I totally agree. I talked to the MVP marketing guy up at the Northeast Expo to make sure I wasn't messing things up by championing Remix, and he said it is fine and a branch of the company so I feel good about playing with them. The Torpedo is so sweet! :D

I really dig my Troll. I've been revamping my bag and and it's a front runner for my go-to fairway.

it has been so cold and snowy since I filmed that... I am going to try to get some more field time tomorrow with them. excited!

I was just matching these up to their name brand counterparts the other night. Got a few saved to my wish list.

I just ordered one of the other molds except the putter... they will get here tomorrow. I am not smart enough to know their exact mold counterparts, but I am impressed so far. Thanks for watching!

I think I have the full run (except for the gladius). They were great to get me started and I still have them all stored right now. I think I have the lighter and heavier of most of the molds (and the glow isn't half bad either).
@ogdiscgolfer10 ай бұрын
I just received the Gladius after it was lost in shipping... got back an hour ago from a one disc round with it, and it is overstable... wondering if it was mis-stamped. It flies like my Pyro instead of the 5 5 -0.5 1. But that may be a mess up. It is not a bad disc, just not what I was expecting. I don't think I am going to be bagging most of these outside of practice rounds, but I do like the discs and I think they are great value!

Excellent comparisons, thank you! Exciting and interesting to see others exploring the Remix discs. The Remix discs are quality discs. I have almost a complete set and have played some of my best disc golf with them. I started disc golf using Innova and then mostly Infinite Discs. But over the past couple of years, I transitioned to MVP/Axiom/Streamline, and now this last year woven in Mint, TSA, and Wild Discs since MVP manufactures those discs (which I learned BTW from KZbin reviews of Remix discs). My understanding is Mint, TSA, and some other companies (including Wild Discs & Jester) contract with MVP to manufacture their disc molds. The best I can tell is that Remix discs are precursors to final molds by these companies. I can pair almost each of my Remix disc molds with a Mint or TSA mold using disc specs from Try Discs and from throwing experience. Instead of trashing them, MVP sells them on Amazon under the Remix branding. The plastic blends are the same quality as Mint and TSA blends. The best I can tell for the Remix discs you highlight in your video: Remix Torpedo (5|5|0|1) might be precursor to a TSA Pathfinder (5|5|0|1). The Mint Mustang (5|5|0|2) might be a possibility, too; just speculation, but maybe Mint wanted something more stable for their final Mustang mold. My Torpedo and Pathfinder look, feel, and fly the same. In all fairness, I don't have a Mustang...yet. But I do have a Wild Discs Addax Reborn, which seems a near copy of Torpedo/Pathfinder. I bag the Addax Reborn. The Remix Troll (7.5|4.5|0|2) along with the Ronin (8|4.5|0|2) might be precursor iterations to the Mint Alpha (8|4|0|2). They all look, feel, & fly much the same. I really dig the Ronin as I do my Alpha. I don't have Remix Behemoth (12|4.5|-1|3), but I have thrown a friend’s Behemoth. If I had to guess, Behemoth might be a precursor to TSA Synapse (12|5|-1|3). BTW, since I can’t seem to get my hands on a Mint Lobster (5|5|-3|1) these days, I bag a Remix Creature (5|5|-3|1), which I think is the precursor to the Lobster.

Thanks for that! I ordered one of the rest of the molds except the putter do to arrive tomorrow, so I am excited to try them out. I haven't thrown the Pathfinder, but I bet you are right about the premolds. At the end of the day, all I care about is if it is a good disc and flies like I want with plastic that will hold up. These check all of the boxes, and I like that it helps support MVP in my own cheap little way :D I am a big believer in having a good stash of the discs you throw and so being able to batch order cheaply is very inviting. Thanks for watching.

@@ogdiscgolfer And I would say it doesn't take away from the contracting companies. After I got the Remix Rumble (10|5|-1|2) and really liking the feel and tracking with the flight, I now have 5 TSA Constructs (10|5|-1|2) in 3 different plastics (2 always in the bag & got some backups). I got 2 Mint Alphas because of the Troll/Ronin. And so on. Looks of some great content on your channel. I'm now a new subscriber :) Thanks for putting it out there.

The mustang seems like a slightly less stable pyro. You always need something like this in your bag.
@ogdiscgolfer10 ай бұрын
The mustang is a great straight flyer with just a little stability at the end. At least the one I have. It is supposed to replace my out of stock MVP Vector, but I can seem to give up my Vector! They are both point and shoot workhorse midranges for me and that I why I am pumped about the Torpedo. My midranges are the Deflector, Pyro, Reactor, Vector (Mustang), then Uplink. (I am waiting on a Detour). I am old school and play with a lot of mids... But, if I wanted to be minimal, I would go Deflector, Reactor and then Uplink to cover most shots. :D Thanks
@sc363910 ай бұрын
@@ogdiscgolfer Interesting. What are your thoughts on the reactor vs the hex then? I really wanted to like the Hex, and I do but the reactor really seems to be what I want to throw.
@ogdiscgolfer10 ай бұрын
Both are great discs... The reactor is more along the Buzz/Roc type of disc where the Hex is more like the Mako 3. The Reactor is a very predictable stable midrange that can be beat up into a very straight flight that then acts more like a Hex. So if you like to cycle discs, I would start with Reactors and season them to your liking. The Hex is just such a sweet point and shoot disc especially after it gets a little beat in. Now I haven't thrown any of the glow Hex and I think they are more stable... which could be a good thing depending on your game. The Hex has more glide than the Reactor. One problem is that all of MVP midranges are really good in my opinion so it comes down to which one talks to you. You can go back and check out my midrange comparison a while back... I think I settled on the Reactor as just a little more predictable for my style of play and the Hex was great, but the extra glide would emphasize a bad shoot just a little more. I am currently trying to settle my bag down... I have too many discs I want to play with, so understand that I may be full of crap! :D Final thoughts... If I had to play a one disc round and choose between the two... it would be the Reactor everytime. Better control and reliable fade, plus handles my forehand a little bit better. :D
