There's 50/50 reviews so far. Some people like it and some say it's not worth it. Love your honesty!! Most people had issues sublimating with it.

Nice hair! First time I've ever seen you without a hat! Thanks for all the information!

I found that design should stay 1/4-1/2” above bottom seam of brim, and make sure “sweat band” inside hat is pulled out, and hat press should be moved back and forth over surface instead of holding it in one place. This is why they recommend the strong grip heat tape to hold design in place. I also found butcher paper taped over design makes moving heat press easier. (and the handle on the form should be on the outside/bottom not inside the hat, makes fitting and removing hat from form easier). Thanks for the video!

I'm sure you have already figured this out, but just so others know, there is a handle on the form so you have better control of the whole thing without burning yourself. Your videos are wonderful! Thank you!

The sweatband is supposed to be folded out and you are supposed to be a certain distance from the bottom, use strong heat tape and move the heat press back and forth from what I've seen. I agree with Jackie's comment. Love your videos for the same reason.

I like that you can control the temp and all, but in my opinion, I think the mini press is good enough on small items including hats. But thanks for the great and as always informative video.

What I would do if I were to use protective paper on any design, I would add about 2 to 3 seconds to the press because the paper creates more of a barrier than if it were use directly on the transfer portion

That's really impressive. I've seen a few tutorials on this, and they move the press back and forth like you would do with the mini easy press. I love the way you put colors together. I am really bad at that.

It looks great and it's neat but when I got the mini press for $49, it's hard for me to justify $100 more for something not so much bigger - in your opinion is it $100 more in value than the mini press?

Thanks so much for the review. I have learned that I can trust your reviews. Just one question, did I see you put the strap/handle inside the hat? Shouldn't the handle on the form be on the other side so that you can grab it to remove it from the hat?

Naaaa, running a small Etsy shop to where I make tshirts, hoodies and other garments I feel Cricuts presses are lacking ONLY in the sense of pressure. I started out with their easy press line but soon realized that was not a good way to go. Temperature and pressure are key to a successful press on any garment. I changed from Cricuts line to traditional clamshell presses. First starting off with a $490 15x15 clam shell and found that it stopped my garments from coming back with complaints of HTV peeling off slightly in corners way to soon. It’s only bc pressure is only gauged by your arms/hands and weight you apply. I wasted so much money in HTV/garments bc of this but yes I had a lot of successful presses too. After becoming a tad more successful I upgraded my clam shell press from a off brand to a higher professional brand (HIX) which was way more expensive but I wanted to make sure to invest in good machinery if people spent their hard earned money with me. All this being said I feel this hat press by Cricut will or could have the same USER issue with pressure. If you are just making a cap for you or friends I feel this press would be okay. On the other hand I feel if you are going to sell hats, with designs/logos you want to consider I real clam shell hat press so your pressure with the HTV maker is sufficient to their instruction. Ball caps are shaped differently in brand and material. You want a good solid back platen, as that stuffed bean bag looks like it has its limits plus you want good pressure to adhere the HTV/Sublimation. Just thought I’d share my knowledge and losses so others can consider all aspects of this line of hobby or business. ~Cheers

Could the Teflon sheet be causing issues though when it comes to heating up the transfer? I mean, it’s not a required step and I would think you could use this no problem with out it. It’s a good tutorial but I think I would have like to have seen it without the Teflon sheet. ( I’ve never used one with my htv and had no issues)

In everyone else’s videos they use the strong grip heat tape to secure the material to the hat because Cricut tells you to move the press side to side when using HTV and sublimation. I concern about the press is that the movement will lead to problems with glue and ghosting issues, but it seems to be a requirement to use the press. I was wondering your thoughts on the movement recommendations since you did not to that in this video.
@sirrahinct4712 жыл бұрын
Love your videos but by moving it on the hat would it not ghost using infusible or sublimation ink? I personally don’t think it is worth the $100. more than the mini press.

@@craftygrams3223 what do you place the hat on to secure it when pressing? I guess the main thing that sucks is you dont know how much pressure you are using but I am assuming it would be easy if using a transfer that doesn't require much force.
