100 Hours Of Air Dribble Practice... Here's What I Learned.
Part 3 of my air dribble tutorial series is back, and this time it's packed full of air dribble tips and tricks! This time I spent 100 hours in air dribble training packs, free play and just general gameplay in order to better my air dribble skills. This is my master guide on air dribbling. I hope you can take away from my air dribble tutorial and put in the kind of air dribble practise that I did while I was training. My rocket league air dribble skills are better than ever right now and I hope after watching this tutorial or I guess... guide, that you can take on the air dribble tips that I explain, and can then better your own air dribble skills. If you have come into this wondering how to air dribble in rocket league, I hope you come out with a bunch of air dribble tips and tricks to get you in the sky!
Everyone in rocket league wants to learn how to air dribble at some point in their life. This is the air dribble tutorial for you if you are one of those people. Air dribble practice and air dribble training in rocket league are the two things I have been focused on in the last month... which would explain why I put in 100 Hours Of Air Dribble Practice... Here's What I Learned.
The third part to my little air dribble tutorial series is back! This time I spent 100 hours in air dribble training packs, free play and just general gameplay in order to better my air dribble skills. , and the results show that I have learned a whole lot that I can now pass on to you guys. Let me know if you enjoyed this air dribble tutorial and if you would like to see more rocket league tips and rocket league tutorial like videos!

As much as I love air dribbling I would like to just state that for all the try hard ranked 3v3players struggling with this don’t stress. This skill becomes near useless when you get up in rank(in 3v3 at least.) Currently I’m 1750+ GC and I probably get to air dribble 1 in a million times the ball goes up the wall. There’s just no space for mechanics like this as much as there used to be. I’ve actually found that I’ve gotten worse at air dribbling from when I first went hard on learning them because of how little I actually get to use it. But if you wanna hit some sick freestyles this dudes vid is the most in depth I’ve seen. Great video!

I’ve found, when starting an air dribble on the defending half of the field, it is best to do a small tornado spin after jumping off the wall in order to make the first touch in the air as easy as possible. Doing this allows you to catch up to the ball faster and allows the nose of your car to make contact with the ball in a more controllable way. Again, only use the tornado spin when starting an air dribble on the defending half.

The two types of launches are actuay quite important, the first one when you jump the moment you hit the ball should only be used when nessesary... say an enemy is charging for the ball and you gotta be fast. the second method is way better as it allows you to wait and have a look at the field to plan your dribble, where the enemies are at, your team mate, if you should pass it instead etc... But for the quality of the dribble and in a "Freestyle" sense it does not really matter, personal preference there. I still gotta admit it, for a hundred hours practise this is really good, also love your ability to describe howto and whatnots. Geat video ^-^

This is the most comprehensive analysis I've seen on this topic. Thank you! There are too many other videos where someone always defaults to, "you just need to have a feel for it." While true, it's unnecessarily unhelpful. I like how you found something at each step that you could teach. I do not know if it is possible and no one does it, but it would be cool to see a recording of holding the remote and just how fast or slow you are actually hitting buttons and what you are pressing.

One tip I’ve found is that the most effective shot is one where you go up with the ball kind of slowly, see where the opponent isn’t at and turn the ball to that direction, and then dive bomb into the top of the net at that spot. It puts the opponent in such an akward spot to save, and since you have so much speed behind it, they’re forced to front flip to make the save, which is hard to do when they change the angle on you so close to the goal. It’s worth mentioning that while you’re b lining towards the goal, if you can also be accelerating it perpendicular to it’s velocity for maximum curve, you can avoid the 50 all together. Practicing in freeplay is one thing, but once you can really keep the ball up and stay behind it super consistently, you wanna go into limited boost air dribble 1 v 1's and really work on maximum scoring percentage

I am a champ1/champ2 player and I gave up on mastering air dribbling like this a long time ago. Its the setup I mainly cannot get consistent. Sometimes my car just flails in the air too when I am trying to make adjustments towards the ball. Maybe a sense issue or panic? It got frustrating to say the least so I mainly stuck to passing/rotations and booming hits to get better. But I still wish I got this part of the game down because it looks so dope. Maybe I will try it again with this video. Definitely one of the bests I've seen on the topic. Cheers!

with bakkesmod you can reful the boost tank with 1 button. so it is easy to practice with limited boost. just go to the air dribble plugin and set the start boost ammount to whatever you want. press D Pad right ; the ball rolls towards you and it fill your boost tank, than D Pad up for setting the ball on top of you and start the setup with limited boost :D

Nice tutorial. One thing that I am missing in all the tutorials is that nobody told how important is the side to which you should spin your car after the first touch. When I figured this out myself I started to do air dribbles. Because if you spin to the wrong side after take off the wall you will end up flying away from the ball and it was frustrating in the begining when I could understand why I am not going the same direction as the ball goes. Other than that - great video.

I’d like to point out one thing that he does while practicing that he doesn’t specifically mention, but is something some people like me struggle with. That is practicing from both sides of the ball. I got comfortable with starting on the right side of the ball when I was first practicing, so I would only focus on that because it was easy for me. But now I realize I’m kinda shaky starting from the left side. Don’t make the same mistake as me, get that muscle memory down on both sides so you don’t have that problem
@Thanovic

You’re welcome. The reason it stood out is because you went into the right amount of detail for each part. Each other vid I’ve watched splits the dribble up into its different parts as you’d expect, but I feel that for each one they seemed to miss something out, a small detail each time, but something that just stopped me from getting it right. Yours had it all.

Adding to your take off tip. I would personally Go into free training and do many reps passing to yourself up the wall. That’s the key. Don’t keep doing the same setup change it up and challenge yourself. And about just a second after or jumping right after. Get good at both because they can be used in different situations.

the best tip I can give that I think is not in the video is: *Know your hitbox!* I tried to air dribble but every time I try to do the carry the ball falls forwards/backwards. The solution for me was to use bakkes mods and use the hitbox plugin with your car. After this I was air dribbling pretty consistently because I knew where my hitbox was, after a while I got used to where my hitbox is and I got better.
