I've been waiting for these cells to come back to batteryhookup. Preferably the swing cells they would be perfect for my ebike build. The -40 operating temp would be a plus in the frozen Canadian north

I have 4 sets of these batteries. Like Jehu shows, I too had problems spot welding my .1 mm nickel strips to the contacts. I found scuffing the contacts and soldering actually worked better. Use your own judgement to prevent thermal runaway.

at 19.3 watt hour they fall just below the limit for the usps. so if you was selling them on ebay you should be able to ship them as normal mail parcel not have to declare as dangerous goods though you may still have to apply the lithium ion warning label to not put on passenger flights. or at least you can get away with shipping them by usps priority mail as long as you ensure they dont short on anything and you pre pack them and submit the package to the post office they may not say anything as long as you dont mention batteries.

Watching the video and found the concept of using them with your 7s modules. Now that you have 4 times the batteries would you upgrade the fuse to 10 amp or 20 amp? If 20 amps Just would it be 10 amp fuses at both locations on the positive side giving you two hot standoffs in order to distribute the extra power envenly,? Just had to throw this at you since you mentioned the 2nd fuse when you designed the board years ago. A video showing heat factors exchange on boards between single or double fuse. Ok. I'm just a pain in the board. 😁

Hey Jehu, would these be essentially 7 x 3.7v = 25.9v per side for a total of 51.8v nominal for a double sided configuration? Essentially a 48v pack?

These Sonata cells almost look like they would fit in some Petzl headlamps or any headlamp that uses 3 AAA. Maybe? Checking measurements . . that's a NO. No fit. too bad.

I'm surprised climbers haven't changed over completely to 18650's or 2700's for headlamps. I see many of them are either lipo rechargeable or aaa/AA batteries
