I know a lot of people are talking about the new/old theme song divide, so let me add my 2 cents. A new, new song. One so good, it makes both the old songs sound like a neglectful doggie daycare. You should get Jay-Z or Radiohead to mix it up real nice. I also have a segment idea so good you'll wanna pay me for it: Jake smokes an entire packet of cigarettes while Amir tells us all his political opinions.

I honestly thought the original theme song was the perfect amount of self-deprecation while also being a really good song. The new theme sounds a bit desperate to me, like they can't even joke about being losers while sitting in a studio of their incredibly successful podcast network. Jake's poem kinda reads like an old Blink-182 song if Tom DeLonge had been into vaguely into nature and shit instead of juvenile innuendo and UFOs and I'm all for it, Amir is both a mensch and a fraud for disliking it.

The only reason I keep commenting on these videos is because I'm a massive fan of Jake and Amir. I hate to keep saying it, but these are really hard to listen to. I'm only 20 minutes in, but a podcast where two people mime out Wordle is bad. Like, if the two hosts are having a tough time keeping track of it in their head, imagine a person trying to passively listen to this during a commute. Going one step further, imagine being someone watching the KZbin video. I'm watching two guys struggle to imagine the Wordle board in their mind. Am I supposed to imagine the Wordle board in my mind during this segment? Is this some sort of twisted SAT prep course for 30 year olds? I know that there are competent producers on this show. Maybe show the Wordle board to the viewers if you want more engagement on the videos. You could even say, "if you want to follow along, you can go to KZbin where we have the board on the screen." Like this shit isn't very hard, but you make it hard every week.
