I am not going to lie, a lot of early success for J&A was helped by "social media managers" in College Humor. Headgum on the other hand has not been able to hire a capable social media manager, someone you need a lot these days. Jake and Amir both are completely garbage at managing their popularity, they used to be kings but they let it all go because they didn't follow trends, something they are trying to keep up now. Headgum podcasters have low views across the board all over the Internet, unless it's some insanely famous person. Still love the Podcasts though, been listening since the first IIWY episode.

Tbh none of "old" CH's talent was particularly good at managing their personal brand, both because that's not what they were hired for and because that's just not how the Internet really worked in 2007-09. There's a reason they all went on to be relatively low-key, anonymous comedy writers. Jake and Amir just happened to have the biggest platform out of all of them, and while they do embrace their fame in some respects, I don't get the sense they're deeply interested in being on top of trends.
