I want to personally thank you from my heart Luke you have helped me more than you will ever know. I'm struggling with mandarin and you have pointed out so many things to me. I know it might be funny to you that a fifty something yr old person is tackling mandarin but I am. It's a goal that I'm going to reach or die trying. I don't any degrees not even a ged to my name. But those are just pieces of paper. I hope with a little help I can achieve this in my life. 😊

It's nice seeing this in context, 弄 has particularly alluded me. I'd love to see a video on argument structures of verbs, like which prepositions you use. I never know if you 对, 为, 给, 跟, 把 something, or if it its a normal object that should appear after a verb.

Really excellent video. One thing I’m noticing here is that these Chinese sentences often string tons of verbs together. Sometimes up to 4 in a row, and more in total. Is this common? Quite interesting.
@MandarinBlueprint
@MandarinBlueprint Ай бұрын
Yes, that's a pretty common thing. Chinese is very expressive, and sentences tend to be much longer in average length than in English, sometimes including dozens of clauses in one sentence.

For "What are you doing?" , one can also say, "你在干什么". ”干“ is often used more in SiChuan, instead of "做" for such sentences.

Halou laoshi, I have a question about "ting" and "shuo", listen and speak (#3 and #4), and in this video these are the same characters. So, I've looked it up and I found 说 for shuo. The character shown in the video at around 2:20 is a 听, a ting, which actually means listen, according to my research. Got me a bit confused there, so is 说 the shuo you meant? 谢谢!

Not only that, there are some on here, that also went to school in China, and can vouche for his channel. What is more, they have lists on WeiBo and such foe the most popular words, etc... so there is not always a need to be in China to teach the language, just as there are many English teachers in China not in English speaking countries. Additionally, there are native speakers in and out of China that can vouche for him. Chill.
