I'm going to do this but I'll be adding castor wheels and a back support to lean the plywood up against so it's mobile. Over all, awesome idea. Thanks!

Thank you for this. I’ve been using a table and will probably have to continue because I don’t have the space for this in my apartment but I want one of these so bad. Leaning over a flat table for pictures is tiring. Side note: I think I’m going to try building a PVC setup when I build one. I think it’ll be much lighter and easy to break down.

I built something similar. I put two vertical 2x4's on the back to lean the obs and I put 4 casters on the bottom. I keep it in the garage so on nice days I roll it outside and take pictures with natural sunlight.

Nice work! This video is making me want to overhaul my photo table a bit. It's the same concept - white background on a flat piece of plywood with lights above. Though currently it's just sat on top of some empty boxes knee high. Ideally it should be on a wood frame like you have and then yeah you get the extra storage space below. This video will make me consider a change - I've thought about the tilted/angled display with fabric backing for grip but I just have not made the switch yet. My setup works for me as is now, and has for years, but the back pain does get annoying at times. If I switch to tilted I would have to change the way I photo certain items and then may have to make another photo table for shoes/smalls. I may have to take a day this weekend and do some concept testing and see if it works for me. Thanks for the content as always!

That's a nice setup. I have a 3x3 photo station for most items but have been doing jeans and coats on the floor on a white photo backdrop. I imagine if you have a 36-inseam you would be at the edges at 4'. I like to show my jeans full length instead of with the legs folded like some sellers do. Don't sell dresses, did at one time but that was return hell. 😅
@kandmresell
@kandmresell 6 ай бұрын
Yeah 36” inseam is the only one that’s slightly big, but we’re still able to just take the photos on it. We get 1 pair of jeans every quarter probably that does not fit so in my mind it’s not worth having a 5x5 for 10ish items a year.

Thank you both.. this is brilliant.. I would be so thankful if you could make a video on your literal process from getting in the door with all your thrifted clothes to listing them on ebay.. This is where i am struggling.. Do i bring all the items into my office and put them all in a basket and then file my receipts..do i then make a note of how much i paid and work out the average cost.. do i then de tag and steam and then hang and take pictures of them all and then store away... Its the little things and production line i am struggling with! I am a rookie and sometimes i bring everything in and just stand and stare as im overwhelmed with what to do.. Thank you ..Lizzy :o)

Yes plan to make videos in the future on these things but incase you need the info now. 1. We put everything we buy into big bags and once week we throw on a TV show at night and detag/button everything for the next weeks listings 2. Receipts I keep in a jar and at the end of the quarter or once the jar is full I just scan them into quickbooks to have a digital record that way I can throw them away after since I have a digital copy. (We use the cash method of accounting so we don’t have to track the cogs on each item. It’s just the amount we spent in total) 3. We take the nicely stacked and detagged inventory into the office and put it in our needs to be pictured stack next to our photo setup. 4. Take pictures and store the inventory (video on our inventory system is already posted so you can see while we take pictures the item is also being SKU’d and put into the storage) 5. Make the listings That’s really it. We try to keep it simple, efficient, while maintaining high quality with minimum errors!

You mentioned that you have the stand a few inches from the wall which is great. But, wouldnt it change the angle of the photo board depending on how far the stand is from the wall? And also those people that use a bigger photo board would have a different angle. I'm wondering your opinion on the angle the actual photo board is. Thanks for the tutorial.
@kandmresell
@kandmresell 6 ай бұрын
Yes, we just pull it out from the wall until the items stopped slipping off while being comfortable for us to take photos. I don’t know the exact angle degrees but I know it’s less than a 45 degree angle. Stands more upright than 45 degrees. Me mentioning the part where it’s setup away from the wall does not have to be a must. It’s just how we like ours setup. It does change the angle and that’s the cool part about the setup. Takes 2 seconds to change to whatever angle works best for you.
@magaAsh
@magaAsh 6 ай бұрын
@kandmresell I did think about it more and I think it's the height and not so much the angle. Unless of course you put the photo board flat or under 45 degrees.

Why not just turn it around rather than adding the two extra blocks on the front? Since there is already a ledge created on the back. Not being a smartass just wondering if there is a reason.
@kandmresell
@kandmresell 6 ай бұрын
No worries. It just creates a slightly further reach forward doing it that way is all. Either way works though but it’s slightly less of a reach and potentially less strain on your back by not using that back bar as the front.

what about long dresses?
@kandmresell
@kandmresell 2 ай бұрын
We mostly sell men’s clothing. If we sold dresses here and there we would just hang them on a wall as dresses look better flowing down from gravity then stuck on a slanted board anyways. The other solution would be to just make the board a different dimension.
