Thank you for the small mention on my fish Charlie letting me know where he is in the video. I appreciate him being looked after. I thought he got accidentally adopted out. My dad looks forward to all the videos from the rescue. He always looks for Charlie in the videos. He really wants to visit and do a tour. We just have to make sure he can since his health is a concern. Good days and bad days. Thanks again.

should always do more water changes that top off in salt water for the same reasons you do in fresh water. adding trace elements also matters.

I live in Florida I have a outside pond with various fish in it koi, pacu, goldfish, tiger shovel noses, and natives I would be interested in paying for shipping if we could get any fish my way 🤷🏻‍♂️40ft by 60ft and about 16 feet deep very clear I’ll take any monsters

Josh yeah you're right the proper term is living rock which is any rock marine rocks that have living organisms on them and in them such as corals polyps Worms crustaceans microorganisms so on and so forth Algies. those who live in rocks rocks aren't alive but what's on them and in them is alive So the correct term is living rock. Dead rock is any rock that's not infested with life And that could be brand new lava

When the water evaporates you don't want to add Rock You got to add more fresh water cuz your salinity is going to be off.. If you're adding more rock you need to physically remove the salt water.. basically for every 8 lb of rock you put in you take one gallon of saltwater out.. to contemplate displacement.. but evaporation is different because the salt doesn't evaporate so it raises the salinity. When that happens you add freshwater back in until it's back to the full line, stabilizing the salinity. Most sumps there's a water level line which is used as a quick reference so you don't have to take out your refractometer every time. But if you're not using a sump, but are using a canister or hob filter you need to mark a full line on your tank for quick references. I assume you know this but I heard you say differently. And would hate to see your saltwater system crash.. a lot of people also keep fish only systems at 1.022 to 1.023 salinity and reef systems are kept at 1.025 to 1.026 salinity. But if you have two systems and you're going to be switching fish back and forth, keeping them the same we'll make it a lot easier, that you won't have to acclimate fish every time you move them from one system to the other.. And considering you have a nice Coral tank the higher 1.025 is ideal.. Josh I know you know what you're doing lol . And you have enough giant gouramis that you can put them all in the monster pond and have a big school of them and they'll all get along because you have enough to displace the aggression, plus the giant tank. You're only worries would be the paroons if the gouramis were smaller than 15 in.. tanks are looking great man inspirations. 😊

That would be true, normally. But in this case when I salted the water it wasn't running as hot as I wanted knowing rock is going in and water volume is going to go down a touch. When all said and done. Salt levels will be where I want it -josh
