@oo0Spyder0oo3 жыл бұрын
It’s either a 79 or 80 model. Assuming the side cover is the correct one as well as the tank. If you check the engine cc on the cylinder, if it says 123cc then it’s the 79, if it’s got 124cc the you have the 80. 81 went water cooled.
@jcaptnnitro13 жыл бұрын
81 was also “full floater” not dual shock like the 80 and 79

It's a 79 RM 125 N. That year had a rev limiter. The grey wire off the coil if I remember right. Most people unplugged or clipped that wire. It gave the bike much more top end. Those were great bikes. I ran mine hard and in over 10 years never had a single problem. Bought it new in 79 and should of never sold it!
@Hanky_Bannist8r3 жыл бұрын
Wet sanding the plastics is needed. Start with 400 And work up to 1000 then use a rubbing compound to finish it. Just saved the rear fenders on a 200x I just bought.

Wow I had one of those when I was a teenager way back in the seventies. It was a TM 125 but it looks exactly the same. I think the difference was the RM had a 1 ring racing piston and the TM did not.
@chillycheeze22073 жыл бұрын
Now these are the vids that i enjoy. The more clapped the more entertaining due to the end results that you give. Once had an older honda that turned out it was stolen over 20 years ago, contacted the folks and they just said keep it due to them not even remembering the bike, i wouldnt worry with a bike this old honestly. Its a downside yes but isnt that bad overall

I can remember when those FIM Sidecovers were all the rage back then. Guys were even grafting them to their old Elsinores...I remember because I did the same thing with mine, in fact those sidecovers were OFF a Suzuki...hehe...

I wouldn't waste too much time on that sadly. If it's been stolen at any point there's no real way to pinpoint when that was so it's basically a parts bike imo

Joe, I know this Video is now 2 years old, but do yourself a favor and get some 3M Scotch-Brite Scuff Pads you can use them on everything with your WD-40 even cylinder walls, bearing surfaces, shafts, Cam lobes, even the plastics Etc. it leaves a wonderful surface for new seals to ride on, even cleaning gasket areas.
