I struggle with boys names, I love Edward though. I hope it doesn’t get too popular in the next few years when I’m likely to start trying

cyril is lovely 🥺 i like harry but hearing it in your accents makes me hate it in my own and absolutely LOVE it in a british accent. (granted, everything sounds better in a british accent)

I gave birth to a baby Peter this year!! Named after a loved one and I love that he probably won’t have 10 Peter’s in his year at school but yet it’s a very “normal” name and he’ll definitely find his name on a key ring when we go on holiday 😂

So excited for you SJ! My favorite is Arthur. All 4 of my partner's and my granddaughters' names are on here, as well as brothers, uncle's, and cousins. I also quite like Henry, Maurice, Derek, Anthony, Eric,and Ian. A coworker of mine had a little boy at the beginning of October who she named Graham (pronounced the funny American way 😀)

I chuckled, my almost 2 year old is Ernest Peregrin and I've seen both those names in your lists recently.

Norman probably makes people think of that movie, "Psycho." Dennis probably reminds people of "Dennis the Menace." Leslie is mostly a girl's name. Many of these names sound like old man names.
@oddmnemosyne28694 жыл бұрын
Leslie is traditionally masculine has a far longer history of use as a man's name than as a woman's name. It was very trendy on girls for a brief period of time and even then it was still used for men. I definitely wouldn't call it "mostly" a girl's name.

Yes that’s because they were popular in the 1920’s

1. John is my grandfather's middle name. I absolutely adore it. 2. Kenneth is the name my other grandfather choose when he decided to change his name. 3. I know quite a few Roberts. Most of them go by Bob or Bobby and are over 50. I do know one Robert who is 25 who goes by Rob. 4. Alby is one of the middle names we choose for our future son. 5. I think we see Leslie as a girl's name these days. 6. Eric could be after Prince Eric in the Little Mermaid. 7. My grandma's second husband had a son named Dennis who went by Denny. There is also a Dennis in my church. 8. David is my boyfriend's father's name. 9. Norman reminds me of Norm from Cheers. Norman is also the name of Norman Bates from Psycho and Bates Motel. 10. Ernest reminds me of Ernest T. Bass from The Andy Griffith Show. 11. Leonard should be making a comeback because it's the name of Leonard Hofstadter on The Big Bang Theory and he was named after Sheldon Leonard who created The Andy Griffith Show. I would expect a name like that from a popular TV to be coming back but it's mostly Leo that is popular. 12. Alfie/Alfred could be popular again because of vlogger Alfie Deyes. 13. Donald is my grandfather's original first name. I don't think that will ever make a comeback. At least not until the gen-z generation is long gone. 14. Harry could be super popular due to the rising popularity of Harry Styles. 15. I don't know if Reginald will be popular again. Even Elton John didn't want to use it. 16. Richard makes me think of Richard Bucket from Keeping Up Appearances. 17. Gordon makes me think of Gordon Ramsey. 18. John McCain's middle name was Sidney. 19. Maurice is Belle's father in Beauty and the Beast. 20. Anthony is one of my three cousin's names. 21. I feel like Derek is an '80s name. 22. Alexander is still a super popular one in America. 23. Interestingly enough there is an Edwin on the Candian and Disney Channel show Life With Derek. 24. Ralph could be popular again because of the Disney movie Wreck-It Ralph. 25. We plan to name our future son Perseus and nickname him Percy. 26. Daniel is still a super popular name in America. 27. Andrew is the brother of the Robert I know that is 25. Their other brother is David. 28. Stephen is my dad's name. 29. Edgar is my grandpa's name and he hates it so much that he wants everyone to call him Rik. Edgar is also the name of the villain in the Disney movie The Aristocats. 30. I know a 25-year-old Martin. 31. I know a 25-year-old Graham. His twin is Elliott. 32. Howard should be coming back for the same reason as Leonard. The Big Bang Theory is a huge show. 33. Gilbert will always remind me of Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables. 34. Edmund reminds me of the Chronicles of Narnia. 35. I know an Ivan who was I think 2nd in my class in high school.

I’ve always had the name Robert on my list after my dad and would use the nickname Bertie, he played a very special part in my life so I think it would be lovely to honour him :)

Percy is on my name list (not that I'm having a baby any time soon) but I absolutely love it! I'd also love to use the name Roy as that was my grandpa's name but not really sure if now is the right time for that name.

I taught an Ernest one year who went my Ernie, too cute! There was also a Herbert in that class who went by Herbie. Iver is in the Vikings tv show and the new assassins creed Valhalla game. Might make it popular! Ivan is my brother and my other brother is Otto. My mum was def ahead of the trend.

My great-grandfather's name was Sonder. The meaning is: the realization that every person is living a life is complicated as your own. I always thought that was a beautiful name for an empathetic child

And you could call him Sonnie for short. Love it.

Raymond is on my list after my dad, he passed away when I was 3.5, so I have always wanted to name my first boy after him.
