I’m in the ironworkers union right now and it’s a great job but the layoffs are annoying. Especially if it’s months at a time.. I also wanted to join 798 as a helper and then a welder. Would anyone recommend me doing so? I wanted to weld in the field but ironworkers came first and pipeline was always on my mind.

If you go on a locals websites it will give you instructions on how to get into a union. For mine (404) I found an ad on Craigslist for a powerplant job I applied for the union got an interview then went to work on a powerplant. The rest is history

Fr shirts r not technically fr after 3 regular washes unless you use the Right soap so stretching is a must so the sparks don't burn out of your clothes

hell if one has to resort to eating spaghetti and hamburger helper , your pretty bad off, ether you drink to much or dont get off your ass to work, or your on pension and dont get enough to live on,, when i worked as a high presser pipe and plate welder i broke my back on the job, and wsib refused to pay me, i spent 12 years fighting them in court before i got a huge pay out, but them 12 years i had no money coming in, so i know to well what it is like, that is why i raises all kinds of live stock and gardens, to feed famailies in need, if you seen my videos you would like them i am sure, problem is there is not many of use doing this, but there are a lot of big out fits doing it, but lucky if 8% makes it to the people, the rest lines all the CEO'S pockets..
