Thank you Humaira, this had been so insightful. I'm guessing you are no longer in Afghanistan and I hope you are safe but sending love and prayers to those that the country can return to the time when it was at it's best and people wanted to visit it rather than fear it.

Tashakur Humaira. My paternal grandmother was from Afghanistan and I learned quite a bit from her about Afghanistan. She came here to the US in the early 1900's with my Syrian grandfather. She would really love you for what you said in this video. Tashakur again ❤

Thank you Humaira, As a western father of 2 college-educated daughters in their twenties, I have a hard time understanding what the women in Afghanistan have to go through. I find your video very enlightening and hope and pray that times will change and the world, of which we have made a big mess, will become better, also for the Afghan women. After all we we must be able to live together in tolerance. It does not matter if this is with religion, without religion and on depending where you or your ancestors are born. I surely hope next and present generations finally will see this and act on it!

Thank you for brining knowledge to masses and to those who portrayed a negative image of Afghan women. I worked and lived in Afghanistan for 7 years and still carry the love of Afghans in my heart. I worked with women of all ages and all walks of life. To empower Afghan women in all spectrum of life, we can NOT change the mind of the male populace, but we can earn their trust and bring awareness of how Afghan women can be an added value rather than a liability. Afghan women and Afghan people in general are resilient people, The women will fight for their freedom, but my research of many years (Including Doctoral dissertation) has shown that the international community has looked the other way to protect the rights of Afghan women. Unfortunately, once the U.S. departs Afghanistan, the Taliban will return and the dark clouds will, once again appear. I pray for my Afghan people every day, I love my Afghanistan and will pray for peace to return to Afghanistan. Khoda negahdar e Afghanisan

I think you are fantastic with all that you do, and I thank you for presenting Afghan women into our world conversation so that we can all support, applaud and appreciate them! May we all become more informed, more aware and more empowered by women such as yourself who take the time to so generously enlighten us as to the legacy of our sisters from many nations and cultures such as Afghanistan. I deeply appreciate this expansive perspective that goes so far beyond even the best standard journalism.

I support the rights of Adghan women and I fully support the policies initiated in Afghanistan's central government to promote peaceful co-existance between men and women in the cities and rural provinces, in educational institutions, in the workplace, and in lawmaking entities. I support this because I believe in a future where both girls and boys can have hope and excercise their abilities to the fullest. This has been worth all the efforts invested, and is worth future efforts as well.

Thank you. I knew almost nothing about what you talked about in this video. I would also like to apologise to any one who has come from the Afghanistan and surrounds to Australia and may have been treated poorly by Australians. We went told about this at school and where I lived in the 2000s there was a lot of misinformation. I was told back then, that the Muslims would come to Australia and force all women to wear burkas and have no rights. I was an idiot for not questioning that. In the 2010s I thought women covered themselves up because they were so beautiful and didn't want to be seen as objects. I see now that there was a lot more to everything.

The reason all of Afghanistan people are suffering is because of Pashtun kings, Pashtun presidents and Pashtun nationalists, it’s time to divide Afghanistan and Partition of all Pashtuns and non Pashtuns(Tajiks, Hazaras, Uzbeks). This is the only way the country will be at peace and progress and modernize. Tajiks is the owner of this country , they have more then 5000 years of history by the name of Khorasan, Pashtuns real country is Pakistan they belong to Pashtunistan.
@zaara25
@zaara25 2 жыл бұрын
It’s not because of Pashtuns but people like you who are full of hate and ignorance. People like you are the ones that set up people against each other and preach hate and disunity. It must be hard living with so much hate towards the people of Afghanistan. I piety you

I can only hope that US policy toward Afghanistan will not fail its women. But I'm afraid it will. Please no. I was in Afghanistan in May, 1963, making a news documentary film for NBC News. I'm sure that NBC has not done another program about the country since then. In 1963, I spoke with the king about our work and he arranged for me to film Buzkashi. I want more schools for girls. @@hghilzai yes, those were the years of peace. I'm so ashamed that for all the money spent by the US, Afghan girls didn't get their share. And no guarantee for the future. We're slow learners, unlike Afghan girls. I'm going to try to get the PBS Evening News to do some useful coverage but it's hard for them. They haven't seen the Hindu Kush. Thanks for your history. I have a powerful daughter and I'm sending on to her. Thanks again!

The root cause of misery in Afghanistan is and was Hamed Karzai and Ashraf Ghani and too many others who betrayed their country and people for power and money. This was a nice brief history of Afghanistan but i dont understand why you are trying to make the current government of Afghanistan look good lol.

This one of the most eloquent speakers that has appeared on screenl in a long time.she is a credit to her gender. And to what Afghanistan was. This was a highly cultured society the like of which was barely matched by what we call western standards.The curse is extreme Islam which screams to the heavens for isolation, and anhialation Taliban are a curse on Islam and the world. Extreme Islam is a movement of thugs and murderers who want power under the guise of being Islamic. Enough said I am shocked
