Nice video. I have a 25-35 Saddle Ring carbine that I have never got around to shooting. Mine was made in 1909 and is still in solid, operating condition.

gotta say, when i was growing up, we had a Savage model 99 in .25-35, and it operated smoother than the rifle shown here...

I wouldn't doubt it at all. It's all who they spent all those years with. I'd just like to see the condition of allot of guns 100 years from now

Nice video . I have have one also. Passed down from my Dad from his Dad. I have to load my own also and I make the brass from 30-30 cases. I bought a box of 60grn bullets the other day for 26$. I was hoping to be able to cast bullets someday for it so I can afford to shoot more often

My grandpa just gave me one that was made in 1907. It was my great, great grandpas gun. I would love to find a box of ammo to put one round through it. One day it will be my sons

Not as lucky to have a great looking lever as that but, did have T/C Custom Shop make me a 23" barrel for my Contenders. One shot kill on a Fla Deer @ 82 measured yards. All my friends have 30-30's lol never felt outgunned. TY for keeping it alive.

.25-35 is bitchin. I intend on being one of those commonly-called "fools" who wants to keep an eye out for one and get it if I come across it. Winchester still produces ammo for it, started re-producing it a few years ago; you can buy soft-point for it now. Make one hell of a coyote killer, feral hogs, or I'd even take a shot at a small whitetail if I'm less than a hundred yards. Bitchin gun, man. I appreciate your video a lot.

This is coming from an old veteran of lever guns. You load and cycle this nice gun like a total rookie.

However, it is wonderful to see someone who knows how to properly use a sling to shoot offhand! Well done!

I hate to say it but overall it wasn't bad the rifle was handed down.. I'm the 4th generation to have it. But I appreciate the comment! 👍🏻

I have one of these. In Europe the ammo is 6.5x52 as far as I can find in ammo spec info. The 6.5x52 ammo is still easy to find but to be honest I have not tried it.

Have one in the family from 1904. Nowhere near that condition. it looks very rough and the bore is so worn I'm surprised it even fires and can hit anything with it. Also in 25-35.

Nice... Love this rifle, and the Hornady leverution ammo for it works well too.

@@gunnernation8051 I've bought 2 boxes of the Hornady ammo, nice stuff. It came with a box of Remington ammo from the 1940's. That ammo still shot just fine, despite the box looking horrible. I'm waiting on some 117 grain projectiles to show up and I'll reload my spent brass for it. I've only ever found ammo twice on the shelf for it in 10 years.

I don't think I've ever seen it on a shelf.. I still have some of the original rounds too from back in the day but the Hornady rounds are more devistating. Definitely a very fun rifle.

@@gunnernation8051 Went out and shot ours today. Got some interesting looks at the range when firing it! probably the oldest gun there by 60 years besides mine. I loaded up some 117 grain soft point projectiles, gotta do those one at a time. Quite the little thumper.

@matthiashellmann6211 3 жыл бұрын
that's not a tatcital rifle, you should get rid off the rounds on the butstock, next thing is the sling, codura aint fit to the Winch. who swapped the metal but plate against the rubber one, the .25 does not kick so much, so you should bring it into original shape, looks much better. Why don't you go to the field by a Jeep Wagoneer, Gladiator, J10 or similar vehicle? Guys who own a Winch 26" with octogan barrel should drive those for daily...., but please don't be offended.....
