I love this entire series, but I'm half German (my Oma and Opa are from Berlin), so this hit home because I love learning more about how things were for my family. The best is talking to them, which has resulted in A LOT of knowledge about how it was, but it's nice that there's outside point of views as well :) Thank you so much!

I recite this to myself when I'm feeling pulled down. "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." It is empowering to me. I am as important and as strong and as beautiful as I let myself be to me. The perception of someone on the outside might be that I am insignificant, weak, and ugly, but I don't have to take another's words about myself as my truth. I want to respect others by giving them the benefit of my doubt. They aren't just one thing and can better themselves. I don't believe in lost causes. You, reading my words, I trust that you can make your own happiness and make a nicer, more thoughtful world. It'll always be imperfect but that's what makes the truly beautiful appreciated. Best wishes.

May I say that I enjoy these videos by Cut Video? Learning about different cultures and their ideal of beauty is interesting to me. Seeing the similarities between cultures and time periods across the world is eye-opening. I hope Cut Video keeps making these videos. I enjoyed the aging video too. Please make more. :) Now, to address my feelings of irritation toward a few negative commenters, please if you're not taking as much time to craft your response to this video as it takes to research and make this video then why should 'I' take your opinion seriously. It's offensive to downplay all of the efforts put in by the Cut staff/artists when you take a comparatively short amount of time to call it, nicely, "rubbish". Make your own true video if you know the so-called "real" woman of that culture. Show the world what you can create instead of only criticizing others' work! I know you are creative people. Show that. "I believe this because...*insert showing off your expertise*." Pt. 1

I love these videos as a vintage and history fashion fanatic, and it's quite fun to see how much countries have influenced one another - from the jazzy 20's to the ww2 in the 40's, and even majority of the videos have contained some amusing side mohawks of the 80's :P but that also makes a lot of the videos a little similar since many have been about european countries or countries influenced by the US, so I hope the next videos could show more of Asian and African history, and fashion you don't often hear of :)

ah... I was right with a conclusion I made on why the 1940s one was the way it was, though it was a silent one. Yeah, the only people in Germany that would be able to afford the makeup you see on the 40s image would be actresses and the elite. The only people. the rest were practically starving.

Kelyrin's Cooking & Bento If I remember correct, Chanel was one of them. The brand was partially owned by a Jewish family and the Chanel family took the oppurtunity of the Nazi occupation to become the single owner. But to be honest, you'll find that most of them probably collaborated.

I'm was a history major in college but, for me, it wasn't about the facts and dates. My favorite part to study was the art and stories they created for themselves. What do those artistic endeavors tell about the culture that created them? Fiction reveals the truth that reality obscures, it has been said. That's why this visual narrative about the "ideal" woman throughout history appeals to me. It's about dreams and fantasy. I'm not bothered if these videos don't reflect my experience or my impression of those years. They're a reflection of someone's experience at that time in history, so that makes them "real". Remember beauty is about ideals, how you or they looked on the best day not every day. Usually I go natural with a little bit of makeup to cover some flaws. This is my truth of the 2010s, but I don't expect it to be definitive of all girls in my culture and time when I show my grandkids pictures from my youth. Part 2

He did. The standard grey officers uniform is probably one of the sharpest uniforms to have been designed. It's too bad it was designed for the Nazis, as it's become to represent evil. So much so, that the uniform is effectively the reference model when designing a uniform for any sci-fi evil empire.
