They picked the WORST possible place to drive this beast, but hats off to the driver for keeping it under control and in the…. road? Can you call that a road? Keeping it on the bicycle path! That would be an absolute BLAST to drive this thing… I’ve owned an STS over almost every year and version since they came out, and had 2 of them in the STS-V series, the V was so much fun to drive, a real sleeper of a car that regularly embarrassed almost every car that tried to run her down. A “frumpy, old-man’s Caddy” blowing the doors off Vettes, 911’s, MB AMG’s, M series Bimmers… the STS-V would leave these vehicles in the dust with ease and it was fun to see the reactions. I usually saw the reactions too, because I was smart enough to END the race long before any top end performance came into play, you basically wanted to shut down any race around 70mph, because while you’d whip all those cars in the unofficial 0-60 stage on the road, once most of them hit their stride, the V just didn’t have the top end to keep pace. But man they were fun!! I have not had the opportunity, or the budget, to get into the Blackwing series and that is so disappointing. A lifetime of being in the car biz allowed me to experience all the greatest vehicles out there, and to swing some awesome deals to own them too. Once you’re out of the biz though… people move on and contacts fade away. I’m 59 this year and I would LOVE to have had the chance to drive the ultimate Cadillac, this Hennessy CT5-V! But stage IV cancer has all but ended the chances I’ll get to as pretty much every day is borrowed time at this point. Only a few regrets in my life, not driving some of the amazing cars and trucks available theses days is DEFINITELY one huge regret! Kudos to this driver, some amazing skill shown here! Extra envious for sure! 👍🏼👍🏼🤠☮️

I have a CT5V Blackwing, while I certainly appreciate the fact that you can add a lot of power...it is pretty pointless. At the stock power levels, you can easily overcome the cars traction when launching from a start on the street. Maybe on a prepared surface with drag tires at a strip you could use the power. As for the CT5V Blackwing H1000 beating a Z06 from a 40 Roll in the other video, it would have been great to see that race from a dig...starting at 0MPH, pretty sure that the Z06 would have curb-stomped the Blackwing. It would be also great to see the 1/4 mile time/speed for the H1000, my bet is that it is no faster or only marginally faster than the stock car on a no-prep surface. I love the idea of all the power but given the limitations of the excellent 2WD and limited slip, I think it would be better to invest my dollars in learning to drive as well as the test driver in this video.
