1000+hp Supercharged HSV GTS

One of the quickest late model Holden Special Vehicles' going around, James Sera's blown GTS recently ran into the 9-second zone. The street driven HSV is powered by a Magnuson supercharged LSX 427ci V8 engine running on E85 fuel. The car had previously run into the tens with the factory 6-speed manual gearbox and stock internal LS3 engine. Built by Autotechnique [www.autotechniq... ].

No, you've said this car wont match it to 100, shock horror, there are faster cars on the road than a Tesla. A drag strip is a test of acceleration, what better place to prove how fast the almighty Tesla is. Yes, a Tesla is extremely fast to 100, but after that it's all over.

Impressive. High nines at about 150, which is about the same as a stock ZX14 Kawasaki, in the hands of a really good rider. That may sound a little like I mean an insult but I don't. That's very impressive for a street legal and fairly stock looking car. The big Kwak is damn fast, and quite easy to ride. Getting a pretty standard looking Commodore into the same times and speeds is no small achievement.

Nice toy..... there is a guy here in England with a '57 Chevy that is road driven.... it has 1500rwhp, 1800ftlbs rear wheel torque and the legend '8 seconds' on the number (licence) plate - and I have seen him do that many times on a drag strip. It doesn't have all the nice seats and stuff though as the rotary blower runs huge pipes through the car to a heat exchanger in the trunk and back to the engine. It runs full width 'big tyres' and easily wheelspins for as long as you stay on the loud pedal..... it will make over 180mph in that quarter ..... and he drives it on the road ... LEGALLY !!!

Hell, you don't need an LSX 427 to make that much power. A B15 LSX376 with a big blower will make an easy 1,200+hp at the crank. Great car though, wonderful.

Built Turbo 350/400 and powerglides handle power better and have much better ratios for drag racing than a proxy 6 speed auto

So this car is a drag car , because it certainly wouldnt stop in a hurry. Great engine impressive figures etc , but put it on a track and a stock HSV would eat this thing simply because it has no brakes, so what was the idea behind the car , im confused. Buy a $90k car remove its refinement to go fast down the 1/4 and slower around the twisty bits
