I will posit that one of the reasons low ranked players constantly run towards the fight is because it's easier to shoot a target in front of you (because it appears large) than a target from range (which needs better aim). I feel this is the same reason most of the time they prioritize tanks over other targets, unless the other target is dead center in their cursor. At least that was me for most of my years playing Overwatch until my aim got better. And now I'm more comfortable maintaining good position and better angles.

How did you work on your aim? Just playing or anything specific? I have horrible aim so usually go for heros that don't take a lot of aiming, but I want to get better.

@@particularapricot819 Honestly, investing time and forcing myself to play a hero that requires aim (for me Ana). I used to be a mid-masters Mercy OTP back when she was insane. After the rework I switched to Ana and had to grind for many seasons back to mid-Diamond from plat. If OW is your first fps like me, you have to accept that for many future seasons (mine I think was 6?) you'll feel mostly static, but you are not. You are building muscle memory and it isn't easy to notice because it doesn't happen in a day. Practice and patience. A lot of pros/streamers recommend rewatching your replays. When I did KZbin at the beginning it did help, but I wasn't as vigorous about it as ML7 recommends, so I can't vouch for it personally but it is something to keep in mind. Same for practice maps or custom games. I tried them in the beginning but not for much. For me it was pure grind in competitive. P.s. I specifically mention competitive because I don't think QP is worth the time. Sure, it helps in aim, but everything else is terrible. So I use QP as the first match of the day for warm up, and switch to ranked asap.

@@pekplays I also usually use qp as warm up and then if I'm just not doing well in comp sometimes I'll swap back to qp just to mess around and do something. But thanks, I just recently swapped to Ana to try to get aim but I still switch back to mercy and Moira or Lucio pretty quick if I'm not doing good. I should probably wait longer and just keep pushing with Ana though. Thank you though, I really appreciate the advice. I used to try to watch back but it's hard for me sometimes still to realize what I do wrong haha.

I'm experiencing this with my friend right now, I got him into the game a few weeks ago and he's completely new and doesn't understand much (although he's learning decently fast). But to teach the basics we always queue in classic quickplay, where notoriously no one gives a fuck - and him being genuinely low level and around bronze rank right now (objectively speaking. He hasn't done placements yet), we get paired sometimes with Diamonds, and sometimes with Bronze players. It's a mad fiesta let me tell you! The amount of flanking Bastions and reapers that TP into the face of our frontline is hilarious :D

Long story short I fell out of plat (been there since 2017) and sank right down to 1000 when I started trying to help my partner win games for a golden junk gun... I look around in bronze every match and i internally scream "what is wrong with you people?!" I feel like a big problem with overwatch is that what junk did at the beginning I've seen work in higher ranks, nobody knows how to deal with junkrat and I feel like he should be nerfed. Either that or a tank should get buffed in a way that counters his spam damage a little better. I know they mainly focus on their masters and higher players balance more but I feel like they need to focus on under those ranks more. Like am I wrong or is the larger percentage of players lower than masters? There's a lot of plays that people think work because of situations like that which work SOMETIMES. Overwatch has a lot of problems, balance is one of them, but even more than that since starting over on pc after getting to lvl 300 on ps4, they have a real hard time dinferentiating smurfs to new players, Ive had so many games, even ranked games, where one level 25 was clearly a smurf compared to what my lvl 25 was. I feel like rather than level it should focus on straight gameplay. Ill never forget the time I had 4 silvers and one plat w mecuring my placement as a gold tank while the other team had a diamond hog, plat junk and silvers. Like how do you win that especially when the one plat is your other tank who isnt bubbling you as rein. basically what Im trying to say here is junkrat is bullshit, there's a couple other characters that suck to play against but junkrat is 1000x the worst one to play against

I am getting lots of leavers and PLENTY of insta locking D.vas and Roadhogs who are brain dead. I can’t stress enough on how D.va sucks in her current state and how ROADHOG IS A DPS IN THE TANK CATEGORY AND JUST BECAUE YOU ARE PLAYING HIM DOESNT MEAN UR FILLING THE TANK ROLE. 12 games as flex support main moira if i can. I lost because i had allways dumb team mates, leaver, toxic or just unskilled and or wrong rank. The Match making is just bad in OW if i loose 12 games. Where is the 50/50 chance? (I was 2900sr on this account season 19 and dropped to high gold) No tanks, no shield if needed, dps cant kill anything. You cant carry as healer alone if there is only you doing his job. One match i had in 1 min. 2 moira ults only from healing. And my dps says we lost because i didnt heal them. It's possible your mmr is bad. When you lose more than 2 games, stop playing. Another advice would be to get a new account, with a fresh mmr and play your absolute best. I was hardstuck plat on support before and now I am consistently playing in masters and it's simply because i improved my mistakes, was rational with the amount of gameplay and started on a fresh mmr (where my past bad gameplay couldn't ruin the new stats).

I placed bronze due to a combination of factors. First, Overwatch is the first FPS game I've ever played. I had to learn running and gunning from the ground up. My sens used to be 40 x 1000 with enhance pointer precision on. Second, my first "PC" was a 2 year old, shitty AF laptop that ran Overwatch at 20 frames on a good day, and the screen on laptops is straight up too small for me to see the game at any frame rate, never mind 20 frames. Third, when I started playing, I didn't care about getting good at the game. I played to have fun, and I didn't watch any "git gud" guides beforehand. I'd never heard of Overwatch, it just happened to be the only game I owned that ran at 15+ frames consistently on that laptop.

it's almost impossible to play dps like Ashe or Tracer in bronze if you don't 4v1 their team on your flank(except for when the enemy team sucks), soldier is super good in bronze because he outputs alot of damage and any team knows how to respond when the shields are broken. If your team doesn't take high ground and your not SR over 9000 Soldier, the answer isn't always take the high ground. I hate hearing crap like that, totally situational. That high ground is a direction to go with a junk on their team, though he wouldn't have made the trip and been up there in this case.
